What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest memory of connecting to music is watching School of Rock for the first time. That movie unlocked a core desire to write and create music. It is still one of my favorite movies to date. After seeing this movie I started learning instruments and eventually teaching myself how to sing.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

It began as a joke, I bought studio equipment that was on sale when I was in highschool and started recording joke songs with friends. Then one day I took it seriously and started recording my own music. When I heard back my own music come to life I was absolutely addicted from that point forward.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

Love Trauma, I was in a trauma bond for awhile and finally escaped. The way I deal with the pain is I write about it.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

This is hard to answer, every song I write is a little different from the last. Sometimes I make bedroom pop music and other times im making sad acoustic songs. I tend to flip flop back and forth depending on what mood I am in.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

When I stopped worrying about how other people would precieve my songs and focused on only if I would like it, my music creation process has become much more enjoyable and passionate.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

I use piano to help find melodies and hooks. Sometimes if I am unsure if the chorus or verse sounds good I will use garage band to create a draft and build off of that. Mainly being in the studio and bouncing ideas off of my engineer is where the magic really happens.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

As of right now, iv been listening to Kami Kehoe which I wouldn’t necessarily say shes an indie artist because she has millions of streams on spotify.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Personal experience drives every word and every note in all my music. Each song is a little window into my past.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

There are two emotions I would like my listeners to feel depending on the song. Recently I have been trying to create a nostalgic feeling in my music. Both a positive and negative nostalgic feeling. Sometimes you relate in a happy way, and other times you relate with pain and sadness. My music is mainly for those with minds that wont let go of the past.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

It’s taught me not to get wrapped up in the numbers, even if my music can touch only one single person I am happy.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

As of right now, performing isn’t something thats on my radar. My dream is just to continue creating music and see where it goes. I just love creating.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

I would love to collab with blackbear or Justin Bieber. I draw a lot of my insiration from these two artists.
