Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Aiden Pearson

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I remember my childhood — it all started with my grandfather buying me an acoustic guitar and sending me for lessons, which did not last long. Throughout the years, I had touch-and-go moments with music in general, but I never really cared for it. It felt unnecessary to me. Until 2024, when I grew closer to it and started fully taking action in music: learning acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, then violin, and most importantly working on my vocals, the quality of my music, training my vocal range, and getting professional help from vocal coaches.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
My passion for music was elaborate — it was an explosion into a new world for me, as I previously could not care less for music. It all came from motivation to want more in life, and especially the intense feelings of a breakup, which sparked my songwriting. I remember after the breakup, running away from life and heading to different dams, being totally isolated from everyone, camping alone, stuck with my own thoughts. This truly made my passion for music ignite into a lifeline of expression.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
My current music project is quite random, and as for my releases in November 2025, they were all meant to have good quality, a fun sound, and depth of expression. I am at the point of focusing on what people want to listen to — something that is TOTALLY different. So there is no grand story, apart from wanting to provide quality, fun, and a new sound! I want to express happiness more than sadness!
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before? My sound is very unique. It is refreshing, definitely weird sometimes, and something you will not be used to. My sound is solely focused on moving with the times and providing something refreshing for people to enjoy with me. I make music I would want to listen to, music I put on myself. It might be weird for some, but this is my style — I want to be able to play my own songs on repeat, vibing and enjoying every moment.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music? What completely changed the way I make music was realizing it is all about having fun, being chill, and having an absolute blast doing it — because your art will reflect that chill and fun style. At some point, I took it very hard on myself for wasting time, not pumping out more music, and cursing myself for not singing better, and I learned that it made everything worse. It took the fun out of it, and I felt my music was not the same. I felt unmotivated to make music. I truly believe that having as much fun as possible is the best thing I have learned — it made everything I do better.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
We use Studio One 6, which is awesome. It was a great program to learn — simple enough, but it provides all the powerful tools needed to make awesome music. And of course the microphone, which is a variant of the U48.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I absolutely adore and appreciate this Russian band: Paassmurny. They are a great band/artist and create a unique and beautiful sound!
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision? My personal experiences have changed the entire way I envision making music. I have had the honor of working on music and getting to know people and artists like Philip Moolman. These are artists I have had the privilege of speaking to because of my music journey, and the people you meet and the insight you gain is valuable.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
Happiness and being heard. I want my music to inspire, to drive people, and to be something to laugh and dance to. I want my music to inspire my listeners and give a feeling of refreshment. I would love for my music to help millions of people, in many different ways, through life and even politics.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That life has many different stories. Music has taught me so much — more than I can name — but one thing I can say is that every situation can be written in a different manner. As I write a song, I can write it to be simply sad or glad. Then when I take these lyrics and make a song, I can do the opposite — making a sad song sound glad, and vice versa. Where am I going with this? When I am in a situation in life, I can choose to step back, take it in, and CHOOSE to see it in a different light — to take a sad or bad situation and handle it differently.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
As an artist, there are places I could name that are every artist’s dream, but I don’t really care. I GO WHERE THE PEOPLE TAKE ME. As long as I am able to share my music with whoever cares and wants to listen, then I am happy.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why? I would have to name my favourite Russian band: Paassmurny. I believe the mix of our styles and languages would spark an entirely NEW category not done before. Take K-pop — English mixed with Chinese. Think of the unique sound we could create, leading to an entirely new category of music.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music?
I have a main link hub connecting my listeners to my website, platforms, media connections, and articles: https://www.submithub.com/link/aiden-pearson-3
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey? Never giving up. I want to keep fighting and building my music career, and eventually inspire millions of fans — to drive change and bring joy into the lives of many, many people.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope listeners will see me for who I am, and join me in the journey of becoming. I am merely 20 years old, with a long path to carve for myself. I hope listeners will discover this with me, alongside me, guiding and helping.
