What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Listening to James Brown as a child. I used to dance to it obsessively and often got told off for it.

How did your passion for creating music begin?
My brother started playing the violin in primary school and I was so envious of it. I played the keyboard at school, but I was terrible. I dabbled with the fiddle too, but I didn’t really grab music by the horns until I started playing guitar and bass when I was 11 or 12. I loved listening to System of a Down, Linkin Park, and Deftones.

What’s the story behind your current music project?
I desperately wanted to start a band that could give something back to the environment where we live. I love the folklore and mythical landscape it presents (East Anglia, UK). It gets snubbed a lot, but I feel it’s got something to offer—some magic yet to be wielded.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Boggy with a skip to your step.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Write songs that motivate you, not what an audience wants.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Poetry, scenery, whiskey, and art.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I’m a bit obsessed with LA LOM at the minute, and I’m also really enjoying Wolf Alice’s latest album.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Yes, of course. Some experiences have been woven into the lyrics, which is completely different from what I’m singing about. I feel our influences really come out in our music—you can hear it all, from Primus to the Spice Girls.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
We’re not a political, romantic, or edgy band. Observe the world around you; beauty resides in everything, you simply need to seek it out. Change is unavoidable, and responding to shifts with positivity provides a strong base for dismantling the barriers in your life.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music opens up so many avenues—so many worlds that you didn’t know existed.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Glastonbury, Live at Leeds, or Desertfest are personal favorites.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Kate Bush. No question.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
A few gigs up and down the country, release an EP, and play at a few festivals would be great.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
There’s beauty in everything. There’s magic in the ground.
