Introduction of the project

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

 – Driving in the car with my mom listening to nana Mouscouri and Julio Iglesias. Two of her favorite Artists.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

-When I lived in Morocco back in 2005

What’s the story behind your current music project?

– It started with the pandemic with the song Good People written with award-winning Producer and singer-songwriter Chris Burke-Gaffney. I started fixating on people , what connects us and what makes us feel different from one another. Like language barriers, experiences, looks, you name it. For me all the imperfections, and the experiences of life, with all the scars or happy moments, sadness, fear or dreams come through are what makes us human. My project is inspired by the people around me and they what they (and I) go through – Good people (Belles âmes).

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

– Afro-pop-Folk. Picture Angelique Kidjo’s energy and African vibe, combined with Yuna sensitivity and pop vocals.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

– That what matters is what I think of me. We make up stories in our head about what we think people are thinking. But that’s all it is. Stories not truth.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

– Garage band, midi, guitar, and most important my vocals.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

-Damien Robitaille

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

-They are my music. These experiences shape what I write and compose.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

-Life is hard but we have to take courage. We are good people, no matter our skin colours, language or look, doing our best in this life.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

-Be good with people and create authentic music. You never know who you’re meeting and what door they can open or close.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

-a stadium

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

-Angelique Kidjo because she is the Queen of African music, making us proud with her induction into the American Hall of Fame.

Past artist I would say Nana Mouscouri, of course.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
