Formula Indie Sessions : Interview with shinyhunt

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Not the earliest but I remember back when sending music via inferred or bluetooth was the main way of discovering new music. I (Frederik) got a Sony Ericsson w880i Walkman in silver and where I could download music off some TDC platform. It was the most amazing feeling to (sort of) freely discover and download music and listen to it everywhere.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
We’ve all always wanted to create music
What’s the story behind your current music project?
We (Signe and Frederik) started making music together. We made two albums and were then asked to play some gigs so Mads and Mads joined.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Rock songs with a pop vocal. We are inspired by both a lot of contemporary artists in and around Copenhagen, but draw a lot of inspiration from 90’s and 00’s bands.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
To just make music all the time. If a part you like doesn’t fit in a song just make a new song based around that part. Stuff like that. We really love making music and songs:)
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
A guitar, ableton and a vocal mic. We use a lot of stock plugins.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
A Berlin based artist called ‘ronja’. She is also in the band called ‘roomer’.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Signe and I (Frederik) just got married this summer and we basically do everything together and most of our songs are influenced by our shared experiences.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
Hope, sadness, togetherness, anger and joy:)
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
To be patient and commit to thing more.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Roskilde Festival is a big dream for us and some of the big festivals in the UK that I (Frederik) have spent countless hours watching clips from on youtube.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
The guys from Horse Vision or GB would be the dream collaboration right now:)
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
To be able to make many more albums and songs together. Expanding on our sound and sharing many more great experiences together.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
That we can surprise you.
