What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I grew up in a very musical family. My dad is a legendary piano player and producer so I grew up with music all around me. I even had many famous musicians in my basement when I was growing up so I loved the thrill of it all!

How did your passion for creating music begin?

I was definitely inspired by my surroundings and upbringing but it wasn’t until I was heartbroken for the first time that I picked up a guitar and started writing music. I used the that first experience as a muse and now the world is my muse!

What’s the story behind your current music project?

I now tour with an all female band ‘Laura Cheadle + The Girls’ where we joyfully perform and advocate for women and the LGBTQ+ community. We tour all around the world and currently have four singles out and a new music video!

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

I have a very soulful voice but the sounds around it vary in Pop and Rock!

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I really trust myself. I know everything that I create is for ME and not to sound like something  else. It all comes from my soul and the sounds of Laura Cheadle + The Girls collaborating.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

The creative process usually starts on an iPhone recording l until we move it into the recording studio! It’s always something different when creating; I love it that way

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I’m loving the song ‘Sunrise ‘ by Fulton Lee! It’s so joyful

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Absolutely. Everything I write or co write comes from a true story or real experience. I never make up a story and I’ve always lived what I sing.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I hope they feel everything I feel in real time whether it be heartbreak, joy and everything in between!

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

To stick with it and to not let anyone change you, no matter what!

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

I’d love to play at Bonnaroo!

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Alabama Shakes! I just know we would rock it together! Their style is so incredible and I feel it’s be a perfect creative match.
