Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Bronnie

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I remember my dad would take us for drives in the countryside to listen to his favourite bands like The Smiths, Alanis Morissette and The Stray Cats. He was in a rockabilly band when I was growing up and I loved standing side of stage watching him play.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
I was so focused on Musical Theatre growing up, I loved singing but I found it way easier hiding behind a character and never thought I could ever sing as ‘Bronnie’. But one night I woke up at 3am in 2014 and wrote my first song and got the biggest adrenaline rush and it was all I could think about. I then started focusing on songwriting and building me as an artist via social media then when I left high school I went on tour and never looked back.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
I’m make country rock music, two of my favourite genres combined. I’m working on album 2.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Songs for every emotion you feel! Some songs are more country, some songs are more rock, some songs are more lively and energetic whilst others are more about storytelling and inspired by country and western.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Theres no right way to write a song! Always write when inspiration strikes because the amount of times you wait on the right time when the diary is free, the inspiration might not meet you on that day
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Acoustic guitar! If a song sounds good on 1 instrument, it’s going to be a great song.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I love Jake Vaadeland! Old fashioned bluegrass.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Living life has certainly made me grow as an artist and songwriter, when I started writing as a teen I would write about experiences I couldn’t relate to but now I feel like I’ve lived through more of the good and bad times and I can write very truthfully now
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I want people to hop in the car and I’m the first artist they wanna play when they go on a Roadtrip!
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music helps with every aspect of life.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
The Grand Ole Opry! It’s my DREAM to play there or The Ryman or Red Rocks.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Lainey Wilson! I love her, she’s the artist I wanna play when I take a Roadtrip.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)
Bronnie on all streaming sites (@BronnieMusic) on all socials.
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
To tour America again, I’ve just moved to Nashville and I’m learning a lot! So being able to tour the states again would be pretty special.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
That I’m very hands on with every aspect of my career, the songs, production, merch, social media. My career is my baby and my songs feel like different family members with their own personality!
