Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with One Ticket to The Moon

Introduction of the project
What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My earliest memory related to music was when I was four years old, and my mom, who is a piano teacher, sat me with her at the piano, and I started playing the keys, just messing around a little. That’s the exact memory I have.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
I remember that I started to feel a lot of interest in music when I was in high school. I had a friend who played the guitar, and well, that—combined with all the music that was always playing at home (because my mom listened to a lot of music, and so did my dad—and on top of that, my mom was a piano teacher)—music was playing all day. And when I started high school, I had that friend who played guitar, and I think with all those factors combined, that’s when I really started to feel truly involved with music.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
Well, I think the music I’m composing today, and the music I enjoy making now, has a lot to do with my entire career as a composer. I’ve been making music for so many years, and nowadays I find myself doing something I’ve always wanted to study and immerse myself in—electronic music—and combining that with what I’ve done all my life: playing in bands and playing heavy rock, metal, and alternative music. In between those two ends, I’ve found something that feels good to do, and I think I’ve achieved that in the sense of being able to combine what I’ve done all my life with the interest or awakening toward electronic music that has always been intriguing to me.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Well, I think the sound of my songs today is a clear example of what blending electronic music with rock or metal is. Nowadays, I’m making songs that have a composition and structure in the song format but also incorporate sounds from electronic music and also retro sounds from 80s electronic music. I think the exact combination I’m creating today is electronic music with retro sounds, while also blending in the song format of what an alternative rock band would be.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
I don’t think I’ve found or learned something that completely changed the way I make music. I think it’s always an exploration and a continuous learning process that never ends. I believe that every time we create something musically, it also opens other doors on a cerebral level, generating new questions about sound, technique, composition, and the audience itself. And I think the music I make today is, so to speak, a culmination of everything I’ve learned throughout my life as an artist.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Without a doubt, the guitar and the synthesizer are the instruments I absolutely need by my side to carry out this compositional process I’m doing nowadays. They also help me open up the creative space in terms of where I’d like the song to go or what I want to express sonically. I think both the guitar and the synthesizer help me find that. I have a home studio where I’ve got the computer, the audio interface, basic digital tools, lots of digital processes, and digital instruments that help me do what I do. I don’t have anything beyond that—it’s something quite simple and organic, something that any producer today needs to be able to make music.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
N3b
Northlane
Sleep Token
Rezz
Jutes
Toutant
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
All the time. My music is expressed through lived experiences, both lyrically and musically. I believe that each person goes through good and bad things that leave a mark and shape a new way of facing life. Naturally, that generates a distinct musical perspective. That’s why I say that, for me, music never stops being a continuous learning process.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
Honestly, what I hope for from my listeners today is to be part of their lives, for my music to accompany other people’s lives. I want them to feel drawn in and comfortable, and also, why not, intrigued and uncomfortable, since that’s what it’s about—raising new questions, generating good feelings, and being part of people’s lives. What I’m perhaps expecting in return is that my listeners can add something to their lives, so that everything is about feeling better, feeling more accompanied, and adding value to each person’s life.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Never give up, do what you love, and go through life that way.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I don’t have a festival where I’m dreaming of playing. I enjoy performing, and I like playing wherever they open the door and I can do it. I’ve been lucky to play in various parts of the world. Being able to travel the world making music is something that truly fulfills me. And through that, I’ve truly achieved goals that were indeed a dream for me. Being able to travel and play was always something I dreamed of. Fortunately, I’ve already done it—I’ve been able to visit many countries around the world. Well, I’m from Argentina, I live in South America, and I was able to go play in the United States, I was able to play in Europe, I played in England, in France, in Austria, in Spain. And honestly, each one of those shows left something unforgettable in my memory. I don’t have a festival I dream of playing. I enjoy performing, and I’ll do it wherever I’m allowed.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I would love to be able to do a song together with Phil Collins.
I have the memory of listening to him throughout my entire childhood and adolescence. At home, we listened to a lot of Phil Collins. I think he’s a great artist, someone I have enormous respect for. I’d say he’s one of the best, in my opinion, in the world. And honestly, it would be amazing to be able to create something from my music with him. I know it’s something impossible, but well, the question allowed for that answer!

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
What I have planned is to keep making songs, to keep enjoying this journey and the beauty that music has given me all my life. I’m always willing and ready to keep performing live, to keep traveling. That’s my intention—being able to continue playing, discovering new places, traveling to other countries if possible, and continuing to release music.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope they discover a new artist who meets the expectations they have as listeners, and that they can listen to my songs daily, and that, well, my songs become part of their lives.
