Introduction of the project
I’m DELON, and I’m about to release my album TRACES on May 13. It features collaborations from artists across the world — London, Ibiza, Argentina, Canada, and the United States. Musically, it sits between deep house, organic house, and melodic house, but it remains deeply rooted in house music. It’s a very introspective and emotional album.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My deepest connection to music comes from the early rave scene in the South of France — the DJs, the visuals, and especially the feeling of mixing two tracks together. That atmosphere really shaped my bond with electronic music.

How did your passion for creating music begin?
I started making music because I wanted to play my own tracks in my DJ sets. It goes back quite far, to my first project as a duo with Delon & Dalcan. We released several records on Boxer Records before going separate ways, and I continued as a solo artist.

What’s the story behind your current music project?
In 2025, I was very productive and released a lot of EPs. At some point, I realized I had a strong collection of tracks that felt connected, softer, and more narrative. That’s when I decided to build an album. I worked on it for about 6 to 8 months, including 3 months of intensive studio time. It really tells a story.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
It’s house music with a melancholic and deep touch, still melodic. On TRACES, it’s softer and more listening-oriented, not necessarily built for the dancefloor — which is different from my DJ sets. It’s a return to my deep house roots.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
With the evolution of streaming and music consumption, I’ve learned to make shorter tracks, more adapted for listening rather than only for playing in clubs. That changed my whole approach.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
My setup is quite simple: two pairs of monitors to check different sound systems, Logic Pro X as my DAW, a Roland Juno, a Moog Sub 37, and a lot of plugins — Arturia suite, Native Instruments, Serum, Diva. It’s classic but efficient.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Right now, I think Brunello is setting the bar very high. His sound is organic, hypnotic, very house-driven, simple but extremely effective. I really love what he’s doing.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Everything comes from my life — encounters, art, music I hear, even the weather or an image. I’m very sensitive, so I translate emotions and moments directly into music. That’s my core creative process.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
A moment of discovery, disconnection, and relaxation. This album is made for listening. There’s a positive kind of melancholy in it, and I want people to feel that.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That no one is a prophet in their own land.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Ushuaïa or [UNVRS] Ibiza would be amazing. And also the Arena of Nîmes, my hometown, for my own show in front of 12,000 people.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Massive Attack, for their depth and influence on electronic music. Or more recently, Brunello — I really connect with his sound.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
To live more serenely from music. Today, it’s still a daily challenge. I just want more stability and peace as an artist.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope they understand my journey over time. I’ve had many residencies, collaborations, and releases. My artistic choices may seem diverse, but there’s always a story behind them — and that story is mine.
