We’re La Convalescenza, and we’re from Modena, Italy. We’ve been around since 2016, when we released our first EP, “L’Eco della Clessidra.” We love blending rock, pop, electronic and metal to create our own signature Italian alternative rock. Give us a try!

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

The first writing sessions for the first songs took place at the end of 2013, when the whole project was still limited to just a voice and an acoustic guitar.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

When we first felt the need to share what was happening inside and outside of us, and putting it on a blank sheet of paper and then trying to transform it into music was the winning choice.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

We’re currently trying to continue down the path we took in 2019 with our second EP “Palafitte di Creta,” which marked the achievement of a sound we really like, one that we want to continue evolving, but without distorting it.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

Expect a very hybrid alternative rock, capable of “pampering” you and punching you in the face at the same time.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

Always try to be yourself, without ever strictly imitating what someone else has done before you.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Electric guitar, bass, drums and synth.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

We have always been very inspired by the Italian band “Ministri”.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Totally, our songs in fact speak exclusively about our way of seeing and metabolizing what happens inside and around us.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

To be able to accept ourselves, with all the flaws, doubts, and fears that characterize us daily.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Remain totally humble and at the same time never lose the desire to make music, even if the world around you is becoming less and less permissive about it.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

The Estragon Club in Bologna.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Certainly “Ministri”.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

On Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and any streaming platform.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

We just want to continue making music our way, without betraying ourselves. And we’d like to have the opportunity to play live regularly again, given that in Italy, unfortunately, there’s very little space left for original live music at the moment.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

Our authenticity, which is what we have always tried to bring out in our songs.
