Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Cool Bellini

coolbellini (2)

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I think our earliest memory connected to music was when our parents played us old Beatles records in the living room growing up.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

Well to be honest the passion for music started as a bit of a brotherly contest – which of us could play the best and write the best songs and that turned into a real love for creating music!

What’s the story behind your current music project?

I think we felt we weren’t hearing the style of music we love to hear and listen to anymore – so it seemed a natural move to do it ourselves, so we started to write and produce the kind of music we love to listen too.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

It’s really hard to define a body of work in a simple sentence – but I guess we are creating adult pop with depth and always with a lyrical point of view that tells a story.

We create music to make us proud first and foremost but with the hope that it translates to an audience.

We want to share our creativity as far as we possible can.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I think it is be to be honest with ourselves and each other. As a writing partnership we don’t hold on to certain parts of a song if the other one doesn’t get it.

I think we have learned to say “Okay you don’t get that chorus” ….for example and move on and try something different until we find something we both feel works.

I think we have taken pride out of our writing these days and respect the writing process to reach a joint agreement on a finish song.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Cubase with NI (Native Instruments) software.

Having our own studio HQ gives us the time to experiment with different genre’s and create our unique sound.

But ultimately everything comes from the gem of an original song idea.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

We love what acts like Bill Eilish do, who take  pop songs and produce it in their unique and unusual way.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

I think life itself just peppers your ideas and creativity in such a wonderful way.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

We hope listener’s take joy, gives them a smile and maybe provokes a little interest in the subject the song is about.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Making music is such a privilege, to start with a blank page and eventually have a fully formed song is the best buzz you can have…..legally!

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

I guess either Glastonbury or The Royal Albert Hall would be a kick!

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

McCartney of course, the man is a genius.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

All our music is on major streaming platforms and you can follow us on all the social channels, or  www.coolbellini.com

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

Just to continue creating music we are proud to share with the world, build our fan base with likeminded listeners.

I think moving forward it would be brilliant to build the ‘Cool Bellini’ brand and to incorporate stories from our fans and our own experiences into our music.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

I’m not sure it’s about us, we just hope people take our music into there hearts and love listening to it as much as we love making it.
