Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with M Soto

_JAY1782

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest music memories go back to Brooklyn, Brownsville. Music was survival — hip-hop blasting through the neighborhood became identity and motivation. It was more than sound; it was culture and direction.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

My passion came from writing. Once I realized that recording music allowed me to express pain, purpose, and imagination, I knew music was a calling, not a hobby.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

My current project reflects evolution — a sharper pen, elevated storytelling, and a deeper sense of artistry. It represents everything I’ve built independently and where I’m headed musically.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

Cinematic hip-hop with emotional depth. Gritty truth mixed with motivational energy. It’s lyrical but modern — somewhere between J. Cole, Jay-Z, and Nipsey Hussle influence, with my own voice at the center.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

Authenticity wins every time. When I stopped creating for industry standards and started speaking directly from experience, the music reached a higher level.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

My workflow is powered by Pro Tools, FL Studio, Logic, high-grade recording equipment, and film production tools for visuals. I also incorporate new AI video platforms to push creativity beyond limits.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I’ve always respected my fellow artist PJ4Short, Massinissa Sphinx and Swagmatik — artists who built  careers from ownership and creative control.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

My music reflects my military background, personal battles, victories, and spiritual evolution. Everything I go through entrepreneurship, fatherhood, and life transitions becomes ink and melody.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

Power. Self-belief. Discipline. Independence. I want listeners to feel like they can build their own empire from nothing. My music should leave people motivated and awakened.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far? Never wait for validation. Create, release, build, repeat.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Rolling Loud, Coachella, and Madison Square Garden — stages that reward authenticity and speak to the size of my goals.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Micahel Jackson because I have a great deal of respect for his influence in music. Jay-Z for the  business mastery and lyrical ability

Where can listeners follow and support your music?

Instagram: @kreatorsunited | YouTube: @Msoto I Tiktok -@therealmsoto I Website Iammsoto.com Email (Sync & Business): The724group@gmail.com

Looking toward the future, what is your dream for the next chapter of  your musical journey?

To operate a fully independent multimedia empire — albums, films, sync placements, and creative platforms under my own company, reaching audiences globally.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

That I’m resilient, disciplined, and self-made. I want people to see that I came from the ground up and  never stopped evolving.
