1) What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My earliest memory of music is imitating piano playing on anything I could find — pots, books, even the edge of the table. My fascination with the piano grew so much that my parents enrolled me in lessons. I picked up my first musical skills by watching my dad play the keyboard and my brother on the saxophone. Even as a child, I was fearless on stage and loved performing at school. I had my own little instruments — a toy keyboard and a microphone. I would spend hours creating my own playlists and sometimes I would sit on the swing in the garden with MP3 player in hand, completely lost in daydreams of the concerts I hoped to one day give.
2) How did your passion for creating music begin?
My passion for creating music grew from the joy of storytelling through sound. I’ve always been inspired by other forms of art, primarily literature and film, and I’ve wanted to combine their language with the expression of music. I realized I could share a piece of myself and connect with others without conveying meaning directly, and that made music feel like a truly magical way to communicate. What I create today is deeply influenced by alternative music, dream pop, and the subtle shades of film music. I believe that this ethereal quality is the best way to express a sensitive view of the world. Every time I create something, it feels like inviting someone into my own little universe.
3) What’s the story behind your current music projects?
The story of my debut song, “crying land”, was shaped by my personal experience of losing a loved one, who has now become a memory, while memory itself became a space through which I can wander in search of those moments. My emotional states often find their reflection in nature, mirroring its cycles of growth, decay, and renewal.
This single is also the result of a thoughtful, creative collaboration with Tide Tunes Studio, whose professional approach and emotional sensitivity greatly supported the process. Their understanding of the atmosphere I wanted to create helped the song find its final form — subtle, dreamy, and symbolically rich.
The song was also inspired by the magical and transformative cinematic world of Tim Burton. In the music video, I paired a human character with a porcelain doll, symbolizing the fragility of life and the duality of human nature — body and soul, surface and depth. The porcelain doll embodies this duality: though seemingly lifeless, it carries a spiritual presence. Metaphors, like a white cat with a clock, guide the viewer through this introspective journey, which mirrors my own introverted nature, as I experience and analyze every moment internally. This world confronts both joyful and sorrowful memories, ultimately tending to their own “garden of emotions”.
My next project will continue the “lands” series, blending music, illustration, and film. I’m creating a DIY moth-doll, representing a person lost in the night, searching for acceptance and light — but this light isn’t always kind; true illumination must be found within oneself.
4) How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
I would describe my sound as a melancholic dream pop that blurs the line between memory and imagination. Gentle electronic textures, recurring piano motifs, and intimate vocals create a reflective, almost hypnotic, oneiric atmosphere. I want my music to invite listeners to explore emotions and memories, stepping into a space where fragility becomes strength, and every note feels like a personal story unfolding.
5) What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
I used to struggle with perfectionism, which often slowed down and complicated my creative process. What completely changed the way I create music was realizing that embracing imperfection can bring the most authentic emotions to life. Letting sounds breathe, allowing pauses and delicate nuances, and not forcing every note to be “perfect”. It taught me that music isn’t just about technical precision — it’s about capturing a feeling, a fleeting moment.
6) What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
My creative process involves a mix of digital and acoustic tools. I created my debut song in collaboration with Basia (Barbara) Czaja from Tide Tunes Studio, who composed the accompaniment with ambient elements and produced the entire track in her professional home studio, bringing artistry and technical refinement to every detail. Working with Tide Tunes Studio added a layer of professionalism and emotional understanding that helped the song sound exactly the way I imagined it — intimate, atmospheric, and cohesive.
I’ve also started learning music production in Ableton, which I really enjoy, as it allows me to experiment freely with sounds. Ambient sounds, such as birdsong, water, or the rustling of wind, play a key role in enhancing the storytelling aspect of my music. These natural elements help create a deeper atmosphere and emotional landscape for the song. I always play the piano to explore melodies, while software helps me shape textures and atmospheres. I adore string instruments, often use them as a harmonic or rhythmic foundation, which adds warmth and depth to my music.
7) Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Aurora is a huge source of inspiration for me, especially when it comes to her image and artistic vision. She draws on nature motifs and often references mythology, creating a mystical, almost otherworldly atmosphere. What I find particularly inspiring is how she blends delicate, ethereal sounds with moments of raw power in her music. It’s a balance I strive to achieve in my own work — capturing the fragility and strength of emotions in a way that’s both intimate and expansive. Her style and imagery have definitely influenced how I approach the visual and musical layers of my art.
8) How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Of course, my music is shaped by personal experiences, from the tender pain of losing someone close to the feeling of not quite fitting in with others. As an introvert, I pay close attention to the world around me — how people connect, how emotions unfold, and how I experience life, which isn’t always secure or easy to understand. Feeling different has often been challenging, but I try to transform that uniqueness into a strength, using it to create deeply personal art. I also carry a spark of childlike curiosity, innocence, and imagination that still lives within me.
9) What emotions or message do you hope listeners take from your art?
I hope my music allows listeners to feel a deep sense of introspection and emotional honesty. I want them to connect with both the fragility and the strength of human emotions — the bittersweet memories, the moments of solitude, and the quiet wonder in everyday life. My goal is to create a space where being different, feeling deeply, or experiencing vulnerability is not only accepted but embraced. I hope my art encourages reflection, evokes empathy, and invites listeners to explore their own inner worlds.
10) What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music has taught me to trust my own voice, even when it feels different or unconventional. Through it, I’ve learned to listen closely to myself — to discover not just how my voice sounds, but how it carries pieces of my soul, and how courage awakens through expressing it.
Music has also shown me the power of collaboration — that the exchange of ideas can transform a simple melody into something far richer, and that learning from others expands creativity and offers new perspectives. Even though we may have different musical tastes, our human experiences are often similar, allowing us to find a common language through music.
Last but not least, one of the most important lessons music has taught me is patience — creating something meaningful takes time and is a journey, not a destination.
11) What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
My dream venue in Poland would definitely be OFF Festival. I’ve been following it for years, and it’s where I’ve discovered some of my favorite artists.
As for Europe, Iceland has such a unique energy, and I believe it would be the perfect place for my music to connect with an audience. I’ve always been inspired by the KEXP sessions, particularly the ones held in Iceland. More recently, I’ve also been dreaming of performing at Iceland Airwaves — one of Iceland’s most iconic festivals. It would be an incredible platform to share my music with such a creative and passionate audience.
12) If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
If I could collaborate with any artist, it would definitely be Aurora. I’ve always been drawn to Scandinavian sounds, and I think our diverse expressions could blend into something really cohesive. I admire the way she brings the spirit of nature into her music, and I would love to explore that feeling in a collaboration. I also really appreciate her work in duets, as it adds another layer of depth and emotion to her music.
Another artist I’d love to collaborate with is Agnes Obel. I’ve always been fascinated by her ability to create dreamy, melancholic, cinematic worlds, and I think it would be amazing to build something similar together — an ethereal, oneiric soundscape that transports listeners to another world. I’ve always been intrigued by dreams and the space they inhabit. I’m curious about what this space truly holds, and in my art, I want to explore that mystery, crafting emotional states that feel like they belong to a dream.
13) Where can our listeners follow and support your music?
You can listen to my debut single on my Spotify and YouTube profile right now and follow me there for updates. I’d also love to invite listeners to follow me on Instagram (@eliza.plawecka), where I share behind-the-scenes moments from the creative process and the visual world I’m building. It’s also the space where I shared insights from working on “crying land” together with Tide Tunes Studio, showing how the sound and visual atmosphere grew step by step, and how the collaboration with Basia Czaja shaped the song’s emotional dimension.
14) Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
My dream for the next chapter of my musical journey is to focus on creating new music for a mini album that explores emotional landscapes — a collection of songs that express various moods, stories, and experiences. At the same time, I’m excited to perform live more and connect with my audience in person. I’m eager to share my music on bigger stages, possibly both in Poland and internationally, and bring my songs to life with immersive performances that blend my sound with captivating visuals. I want my live shows to be fully artistic experiences, where the music is enhanced by carefully crafted stage design, creating an emotional and sensory journey for the audience.
15) What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I’d love for listeners to discover my artistic values and explore the deeper meanings in my music with curiosity. I truly enjoy when they share their thoughts. It’s very meaningful to get personal feedback and hear how others connect with my work. For my debut single, I organized a creative challenge on Instagram, where listeners were invited to interpret the song in any way they wanted — through photography, illustrations, poetry, and videos. In this way, they created different continuations of the story in the song. As a special gift for them, I gave away music boxes with the melody of my song, and the handmade decorations were inspired by the stories listeners had shared. This kind of connection with my audience really touches me, and it’s a beautiful way to get to know each other. That’s why I encourage everyone to follow my Instagram — I’ll be organizing similar creative challenges for future projects, and I’d love for you to be a part of them!
16) If you want here you can add a representative Youtube video to insert below the interview.
Here is the official music video for my debut song, created in collaboration with Tide Tunes Studio. I directed, filmed, and edited the video myself, which allowed me to fulfill a dream of bringing together two worlds that are closest to my heart: music and film. Enjoy!
