Sander Sanchez has centered his career in Copenhagen – but he originates from Jutland and South Dakota (USA), where he has his Native American roots – which have had a strong influence on his musical expression. He currently attends the Danish Songwriting Academy. Where he focuses on his songwriting and artist project. What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I guess my first
How did your passion for creating music begin?
I guess my passion for creating music started when I was a little native american baby dancing around in my traditional dancing regalia – watching all the youngsters and grownups sitting around the powwow drum, singing their hearts out in a chant – whilst people where dancing to the beat transcending into another place beyond earth haha <3
What’s the story behind your current music project?
I guess thr story I’m trying to tell is a story about finding true power within yourself – and how you can find teachings on how to be and live in harmony in nature and within your mindmap. I was raised in a very shamanistic and spiritual world and environment – which has colored alot of my view on how to be and live in this world. So I guess the story of my art in one on how to find peace, strength and harmony and how to feel everything this life has to offer to the most my capability ~ because in the end the last thing I wanna regret was not feeling everything enough.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
I writes songs in a space between everyday life, deep reflection, spirituality, and natural science. I often take inspiration from small observations in nature—light, wind, water, or silence – and use them as metaphors for human emotions and inner states. My musical universe make strong use of a shimmering and dreamy texture. The music embraces a strong sense of euphoria and cosmic references, playing in the space between the
down-to-earth and the contemplative. It’s an expression that draws both on the authenticity of the underground and a strong sense of melodic songwriting.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
That letting every song i make surround me as a universe – will enable my heart to unlock it’s potential. And that harvesting emotions in the creative process makes every second you spend worth it – no matter how many. Also to focus on letting every ounce of what’s in your heart be what matters rather than a technical impressive vocal fx.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Some kind of ambience, and something that gives what you here a texture and colors. The music should sound vibrational adn alive. So I love to use distortion, dub-bass and synths – also chimes, meticallic samples that can give the soundscape somekind of magical, etherial touch.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Kevin Garrett or RKCB – also Oh Wonder is on repeat on a quite and emotional day.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
They define eveything a make and am as an artist. I mainly focus on developing who i am as a person and to grow as person ~ because I know it will elevate my art and music. It goes hand in hand.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope the world seems like a little bit more of a hopeful and beautiful place to live. And I hope that they somehow feel more enlightened and that the colorspectrum has somewhat widened.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music has taught me that the most powerful thing you can do is be fully yourself. The more honest I am about who I am, where I come from, and what I feel, the more deeply people connect with it. Music showed me that vulnerability can become strength
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Playing at Roskilde or Glastonbury Festival would be a dream. It has such a special energy. I’d also love to perform somewhere like Royal Arena (again) one day – would be a full circle moment, since that place also was the first place I got to show the world the first song I ever released SCREENS.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Diplo – I think would be DOPE – But also maybe somebody like Robyn, Banks or MØ

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
I currently working on an album – that I hope to have ready sometime in a near future! But I’m soon releasing a new single called “the SUN” – So watch out <3
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
