What is your earliest memory connected to music?
: My dad was a musician and there was a piano at my grand parents PLUS my older sister had all the cool vinyl records which always ended up with me!
How did your passion for creating music begin?
: In teenage years, when I discovered that it was cool to be in a band, and play own compositions. Later when I got an ATARI computer and started to like Techno music, my passion for creating music was fully awoken.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
: CURFEW is not a new project. We recorded our fist album in 2000 and it got released on ‘Rotary Head Records’ in 2001 (I believe). Then we went from a duo (female singer and myself on keys and production) to a full band and played many concerts in and around London and at Festivals all over. The band didn’t last and CURFEW went back to being a duo for some years until the singer moved abroad and I am mostly producing music in the studio now, using guest musicians where needed.
The latest release was OMICRON in October 2025 and there’s enough material for a double album, which is waiting to be mixed and finished. I hope to have the time for it in 226!
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
: AUDIO ARCHITECTURE <> ELECTRONICALLY DESIGNED !
Curfew is electronic music with perhaps more live instruments and vocals than average EDM music.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
: MIDI and the advice to “keep it simple” !
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
: MIDI sequencer, synthesisers and keyboards, Too many to name specific ones.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
: Don’t know.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
: I love nature and that helps me to create beautiful soundscapes. And beats, they need to be able to move me.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
: Positivity and Optimism.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
: Music is escapism and it doesn’t matter how many people like your music or whether you are successful – as long as the music you’re making comes from the heart and satisfies you, you are on track!
But Music also helps to overcome situations in life, whether you’re down or on a high, music always helps ! AND finally the most important lesson was that you will never be perfect playing your instrument, therefore keep practising!
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
: We did play quite a few back in the day and I liked them all. However I hear that some new festivals in Eastern Europe are wild and we’d love to get booked for some of those.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
: Leftfield, Agnes Obel, Kate Bush, Boards Of Canada, awww quite a few more. Can you make it happen for us?

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
: Getting the next album finished. Make music my main job, giving up the day-job!
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
: There’s more to music than meets the ear! Our music is versatile and I hope listeners will discover other projects I work with.
