Ro and the Club is a band originating from Argentina, formed by Sebastian Ledesma, Ignacio Hasan, and Nyzabeth Gularte. The conceptual project aims to bring to life the fictional (and not so fictional…) friend named RO, telling stories through music and videos, accompanying him on his adventures as he learns to exist in this world , a world as strange for him as it is for us ,thus creating a mirror of our reality and contemporary events.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest memory of interacting with music was when I was six years old, one morning picking up my old man’s guitar, finding a couple of notes, and singing about a flower. But a few years ago, my father found some cassettes on which, according to him, I sing songs or play instruments. To this day, I’m curious, but I’ve never listened to the tapes.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

There was always music in my house. My father played the piano and guitar and talked to me a lot about music and musicians. He used to have conversations with me where he tried to explain how music could make you feel so many things, or how incredible a guitar line was and why (a fan of Pink Floyd), so I guess that’s where my passion for music comes from.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

This may be a one-way trip…

“Ro y el Club” is a conceptual project that aims to bring a character named “Ro” to life. I had the idea for this character since I was a teenager, and it evolved over time, with lots of ideas, concepts, storyboards, trying to stitch together different media (music, art, live-action and animated music videos) to tell a story that reflects our perspective.

Doing this and sticking to a concept gave me incredible freedom to express myself in more creative ways than just making music for people to dance to. I want to do something that audiences hungry for artistic content can pay attention to, find details in, and construct in their minds the story we are trying to tell and understand Ro’s existence.

We’ve just started…soon, between December 2025 and January 2026, the first EP with three songs will be released, introducing RO for the first time.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

If Gorillaz had a bastard child born in Latin America who was a fan of Alt Pop and rock music and popular singers in the region.

Although I wouldn’t say it’s a virtual band.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

Perspective is a powerful creative tool. When I started thinking conceptually about my music, I stopped making music just because it sounded good, and suddenly I started creating bodies of art rather than just collections of songs.

Focusing on a point I wanted to reach conceptually made me learn to pivot within the perspective to that point, creating songs that began to sound fresher and more unique and that together are now something more… something bigger that is pointing to something.

Now I have direction, and I am excited about the plans I have for 2026.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

The most essential thing for me is FL Studio, a guitar or a piano or a MIDI keyboard or a drum machine. I usually compose the basis of my music or beats using these or combinations of these.

Then it’s usually time to decide whether to use certain effects or not, or to replace an entire instrument with another. It always depends.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

Boko Yout.

Beautiful blue man.

I just discovered them a few days ago. Afro grunge, alt pop with spirit and GUSTO.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

I am most honest when I am making music, even with myself.

All of Ro’s songs, and even his story, no matter how crazy or strange it may be, are parallels to things I have seen or experienced; they are part of my worldview.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

A little hope, a little love, a little struggle, my songs have a certain melancholy that tries to see the bright side when something bad happens, that it’s okay to feel like a loser from time to time. I also intend for my music to always have certain messages or try to point to something within or about something that is happening. I think we live in times when a lot of things are happening, and it’s okay to make music for fun from time to time, but we shouldn’t ignore what’s going on either.

I would like to get people to think about something.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Music taught me many things: discipline, meaning, infinite ways to express myself, even how to put myself in other people’s shoes.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

I don’t have a dream location, but I dream of going on a huge tour of Latin America or other continents.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Being honest, I don’t think about it much I don’t have a dream collaboration or anything like that, but I’m open to it and would love to work with different artists with different styles. I just never dreamed of anyone in particular, I guess.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

We’ve just started. In 2026, we’ll release our first EP, with three songs and three videos, marking the beginning of our story and our first small collection of songs.  It’s called “Three Melodies,” and I’m excited to finally release it, even though we have other, much bigger plans for 2026.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

I hope that the audience can see how Ro is different parts of who I am, and so are other members of the club. Perhaps also that our main intention is to create art and also make you think a little outside the box to recognize yourself.

In any case, I will always be grateful to the people who give us their time to listen and see what we do.
