What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My earliest memory goes back to when I was much younger, a small moment but it stuck. I remember riding with my dad in his car as he played reggae and highlife on the radio. I’d try to sing along and twist the melodies into something new. That feeling, hearing a song and wanting to sing it back louder, is where it all began for me.

How did your passion for creating music begin?
Growing up I’ve always had a creative mind. I loved making things, whether it was sounds, videos, or dances, anything that let me express myself. I started creating short melodies from songs I heard around me and added my own touch to them. Over time it became a hobby, and now I try to create music every chance I get.

What’s the story behind your current music project?
My next project is coming from a place of honesty. I want to talk about the things most people don’t say, and need to still stand tall through it all. It’s inspired by moments where I felt misunderstood but also by the growth that came from them.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
I’d say my sound is a mix of real emotions and vibes you can move to. It’s kind of Afrobeat meets personal storytelling, songs that come from my experiences but that anyone can feel and relate to. It’s honest, raw, and a little playful at the same time.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
I’ve learned that being true to myself makes the biggest difference. When I stop overthinking and just create from what I feel, the music comes out more real and connects with people in a way I couldn’t force before.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
I usually keep it simple. My computer, a good pair of headphones, YouTube, and my DAW are my main tools. Sometimes I use a keyboard or record sounds from my surroundings. It’s all about capturing the vibe I feel in the moment.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Right now I’m feeling Omah Lay. He inspires me a lot.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Everything I go through shapes my music. My experiences, my highs and lows, the people I meet, they all end up in my songs. That is what gives my music its feeling and makes it real.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I want listeners to feel understood and connected. I hope my music makes them feel something real, whether it is joy, pain, or hope, and reminds them that they are not alone in their feelings.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music has taught me to be patient and trust the process. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen overnight, and staying true to yourself is more important than trying to follow trends.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I would love to perform at Coachella and maybe the O2. The energy, the crowd, and the chance to share my music with people from all over the world would be an unforgettable experience.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Omah Lay. His style and vibe really inspire me, and I feel like working with him would bring out a new side of my music.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website, Spotify, IG, links)
They can follow me on Instagram at asufii__, listen to my music on Spotify, Apple Music and others — ASUFII on everything.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
I want to keep growing as an artist and reach more people with my music. My dream is to perform on bigger stages, connect with fans worldwide, and keep creating songs that feel real and meaningful.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope they discover that I’m genuine and passionate about my music. I want them to see my journey, my story, and the emotions I put into every song.
