It's A Lonely World

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

When I was a young boy, I spent time at my Grandparents’ home. There I discovered an Ocarina, a steel guitar, and an autoharp. I tried to play these instruments on my own. They inspired me. Whenever I came across a piano, I would try to play it also.. 

How did your passion for creating music begin?

I heard the “Moonlight Sonata”. I realized then the wonderment, the magic of music. As I grew up, I listened to many genres of recorded music: Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country and Western, Classical, R & B, and Polka.They all had an impact on me. I then began to write songs.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

I have many singles that I would like to incorporate into an album.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

My recordings are an amalgam of every piece of music I have listened to. It’s a fusion of Rock, Rhythm & Blues, and Jazz. 

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I found I could make recordings by myself, playing all the instruments, and singing all the parts. 

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

I use Studio One as my DAW Software.  I also use many different keyboards, and keyboard software, guitars, and percussion. As an Interface, Focusrite Clarett is my choice. I have a variety of microphones including the MXL Genesis.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I love Fat Freddie’s Drop, especially their song “Leave Your Window Open” a masterpiece of groove. It really inspired me to enhance my direction.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Living in Hollywood was a heavy influence on my writing style. That city sings to you like a vinyl record, sometimes hard and sometimes mellow. My music reflects the world in which I live.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

A feeling that satisfies their soul. A message to stay aware of all sensations that your perception translates into knowledge.

 What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

That music is so important to the human race. It affects moods; it can be uplifting, happy, sad, or exhilarating. Music is a time machine. It can put you right back to where you first heard or experienced it. Music has taught me that I need to keep creating it to satisfy my soul.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

The Hollywood Bowl – and for a more intimate engagement, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, AZ.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

At this point in my life, I couldn’t imagine collaborating with anyone. It would not be pure me.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

I strive to learn something new musically as much as I can. I want to incorporate this new knowledge into my endeavors.

I hope they discover that I’m an interesting artist and that they will enjoy the music that I have created.
