What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest memory connected to Music was me sitting on a bunkbed while a radio played an Elton John song and I can remember sitting there, listening to the music and being lost in the imagery of the lyrics.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

My passion for creating music began Once I realized I could listen to a commercial jingle on TV and learn it. Once I knew I could learn music, I believe the freedom of creating it became more and more amplified as the years went on.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

I am currently set to release my next single called Walk Away. In my writings, I tend to write about life and life experience, and when writing this song I felt the need to express my thoughts on people who cheat and how they should just walk away rather than hurt someone in that way.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

I would describe my music as country blues sprinkled with some folk n soul.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

One of the many things I’ve learned about the way I make music is, you can’t just sit down and write a song everybody will love. You have to sit down and write a song you love, and hopefully that resonates with others. There’s a certain freedom that arrives when you do things creatively without worry of expectation or end result. Simply for the love of music.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

All I need as far as tools or instruments when it comes to my creative process is a guitar, pen and paper and quiet space where no one can hear me sing a line 8 million times in a row lol

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I’ve recently added an artist by the name of Blane Bailey from Tahlequah, Oklahoma. A real triple threat. Picker, singer and writer.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

My personal experiences are the foundation for my music and artistic vision. Personal experience has always been the igniter to my need for expressing myself.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I would love for any listener to find direction or a sense of not feeling alone in life. Highs and lows are all brief moments throughout our lives so just keep on trying.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Well music seems to be the one thing I’ve always stuck with so I’d say Music has taught me to always do what you love to do.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Red rocks amphitheater in Colorado would be an amazing venue but Austin City Limits would be the dream venue.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

A collaboration with Paul McCartney would be my pick. I just feel like he would be so giving of his craft and experience. I would come out of that session as a brand new artist. Annnnd I would be making everyone sick of hearing about how I sat down with him to write a song 😉

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

Looking forward, my dream for my  music is to find a way to do just music. No regular job, just creation.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

I hope listeners will discover the honesty and story in my music. I hope they can be taken somewhere where all you feel is the song.
