The Lovekiller – the dark-rock & nu metal duo, formed of Valerie and Alex. They crafted a  melodic rock sound with elements of pop and metal. The duo thrives on breaking the rules  with a sound they describe as “romantic, dark, honest and touching”.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

Our earliest memory is listening to old songs on cassette tapes. There was something very  special about that sound – a bit raw, a bit imperfect but it felt almost magical. That’s probably  the first time we realized how powerful music can be.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

Actually, it didn’t begin as passion – it began as pressure we could say. Music is not  something we wait for. It was just something that wouldn’t let us stay silent. At some point,  everything inside becomes too loud and you either collapse or you turn it into sound.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

We’ve been working together on music for a long time, in the studio, releasing music and  playing more than 60 shows across Europe. But one year ago we realized we wanted to  create a new chapter.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music  before?

It’s blend of melodic and dark rock on the edge of pop and metal. Heavy guitars. Atmospheric synths. Very emotional and fragile vocals. Touching lyrics. We could say our  sound is sometimes too soft for metal and too dark for pop. But we like that tension, because  that’s how emotions actually feel.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

It’s hard to choose one, but the main thing we learned is that honesty matters more than  genre. We stopped trying to “fit”. Now we just follow the feeling – even if it contradicts itself.  That’s why our music can sound fragile and aggressive at the same time.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Guitars, raw amp sound, synth layers, and the volume of voice. We experiment a lot –  sometimes going through dozens of versions of one track just to find something that  feels real. If it doesn’t feel true, we delete it.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

We don’t listen to a lot of music casually, but we really respect artists like Ethel Cain and  Chelsea Wolfe – they build entire worlds around emotion. And we love dark heavy and  groove metal like Bad Omens, Marilyn Manson etc.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Everything comes from personal experience. Fear. Loneliness. Emptiness. Love that hurts  becoming destructive. We write about things and feelings we can’t stop thinking about – all that stay in your chest and don’t go away. Music is how we process that and try to find  healing.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

Relief. We want people to feel that what they’re going through or facing emotional conflicts  and difficulties is another aspect of real life that we should accept and learn to live with. And that they’re not alone in it.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

That healing is not about fixing everything. Sometimes it’s about accepting what stays. You  don’t have to become “better” – you just stop hiding and show your true face. You don’t have  to be “perfect” – imperfections are the most valuable part of being real. It’s all about music  lessons:)

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

We would love to play and actually perform in any place where people are willing to feel. It’s  not about the size. It’s about the intensity of the moment. Sometimes a small venue can feel  bigger than a festival you know?;)

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

It would be great to collaborate with Hurts or HIM. The way they feel and perform music  is so inspiring and touching and really resonates with us.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical  journey?

It could be an album definitely. With stunning music vinyls of course:) We want to create  something that feels like a full emotional cycle – not just songs but a complete experience  like a music diary or a confession.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?  We guess it’s not really about us. If they listen our music closely they’ll hear themselves.
