Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with RENZITA
What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Singing when I was little! Singing has always been a part of my life.
My mom said I sang before I talked when I was a baby.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
It was something always inside of me, I just had a drive to create and express myself through songwriting! I started writing poetry in high school, and when I took up playing guitar, I started writing songs., It’s in my DNA!
What’s the story behind your current music project?
My current music project RENZITA , We are original genre genre-breaking hardrock/metal. We were formed by way of an email I received in Feb 2023. I had collaborated with a musician in England and had done the vocals on one of his songs. RANZ had done the lead guitar on the track, liked my voice and asked me if i would help him with an unfinished song of his, i said yes! After the first track was done, we knew we had something special and I suggested we form a project together and a mashup of our names formed the name of our band. He is in the US, and i am in Canada, we did it all via the internet, sharing and exchanging 100’s of song file, working every day ! We have written 2 albums plus more in less than 2 years .
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music
Before? Take hard rock kinda 90’s feel add metal, classical, maybe some jazz and rock rap , symphonic, electronic, depends on the track! they are all different! It’s like a roller coaster, our sound flows from one sound to another and back again, you have to listen to more then one track , were full of surprises! A song can go from metal to hard rock to electronic to rap and back again to hard rock, then metal,
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Take chances, go beyond your comfort zone!
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
I use Studio 1 DAW to record, use a Sennheiser mic, and i have electric and acoustic guitars a bass, and have just bought a cajon.
A large tool in my creative process is years of writing lyrics and singing multiple genres of music . For me songwriting is not a lightbulb moment , writing lyrics is a process of many drafts and tracks to get to the final song, All the lyrics come from my brain ! No AI is used!
As a songwriter, if you work with someone, you have to be open to new ideas in the songwriting process! There have been times when i have learned a vocal line and had to totally dump my idea and chance things completely. It can be hard but in the end it was a much better idea!
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
The band The Rising Fall!
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
The problems and struggles in our world and in personal relationships are my focus in my lyrics. The world today directly influences how i write!, i am sensitive to the struggles of the world as I have gone through a lot of abuse and bullying growing up, and have been in some toxic relationships in my life, so i know their are people who have walked a similar path as me!
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
To let listeners know they are not alone with their feelings and I hope our music can help them and bring them to a happier place! My lyrics tell people they are not alone with the feelings they have for our troubled world and there is hope for us all if you fight through this mess of a world!
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Follow your path in the face of aversion!
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
To play a large metal festival in Europe!
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
My songwriting partner Randy, he is busy with his life now and i have never had a Musical collaboration like what we have now, We have lots of unfinished tracks for a 3rd album, i miss working with him!

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical
Journey? To get RENZITA tracks on mainstream music radio, expand our reach , and get our music across the sea to new markets., we are looking for an overseas distribution deal I would love to tour but i am unable to as i am caring for my seriously ill family member.
Looking to the future. and releasing some tracks from our 2nd upcoming album “Dimensional Destiny”in 2026 and planning to tour whenever that comes about!
I just found out we are nominated for Best International Band 2026 Wig Wam Radio in the UK!
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
That they will relate to and like our music and follow us on our social media platforms and come and see us play when I can tour!, The most important part of music is to connect with others.
