Formula Indie Sessions Interview with Madisine

madisine

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I remember driving with my mom at night blasting Nirvana in the car
Thank you mom!

How did your passion for creating music begin?
I was 11 or 12 when I wanted to try to learn the guitar again
First approach at 6 quickly failed but the second time I did better.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

Bands weren’t working so after two or three failed attempts I thought about starting my solo project and Madisine was born.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Someone asked a friend of mine this question and they answered with “melancholic”.
I think it fits.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
A guitar and an empty house to scream as loud as I can is all I need to start writing something new.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I’ve been listening to a lot of Puma Blue recently and also MARO and Softcult.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

Anything that happens to me or to the people close to me becomes the fuel that helps me write songs. I wish I could be one of those storytellers who can create a story from nothing, but for now, everything I write has some sort of truth beneath it.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

Comfort, being understood and seen.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

If someone likes the same bands or music as you do, that doesn’t mean they’re a good or sensitive person — and it still shocks me somehow.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Glastonbury.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Let’s stay in the present and I’m gonna say Billie Eilish.

I think we could make one big sad  ballad.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical

journey?

My debut album “The Storm is Over” is coming out November 27!

I hope it will be listened and understood and also I would like to go on my first ever tour.
