Formula Indie Sessions : Interview with Lidly

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
We all grew up with music close to us — at home, at school, or through the first songs we tried to sing. Those early memories made music feel like a natural way to communicate.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
It started when we realized that music helped us say things we didn’t know how to express out loud. Creating songs became a safe place to process what we were living.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
Lidly is a collective where young singers debut original songs that reflect real issues teens face today. Each release is built around honest stories, fresh perspectives, and a clean, modern sound designed to connect without filters.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Our sound is modern pop with emotional clarity — melodic, expressive, youthful, and relatable. Fresh rhythms, simple hooks, and a clean production style that focuses on the voice and the story.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music? Understanding that simplicity communicates better than complication. When we stopped trying to “sound perfect” and focused on honesty, everything became more real.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process? We produce everything in Reaper, and we record vocals in one of the top studios in Buenos Aires, equipped with high-end gear. Keeping the workflow professional and consistent helps us focus fully on the message and the performance.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
We’re listening a lot to Olivia Rodrigo, Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Conan Gray, Yami Safie, Camilo, Aitana, and Kenia OS. They balance authenticity with strong songwriting.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision? Everything we write comes from real feelings — school pressure, friendships, comparison, identity, and the silent battles that teens navigate. Our personal experiences shape the tone, the themes, and the emotional depth of each track.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work? We want them to feel understood. To know they’re not alone. And to feel empowered to speak up, even when it feels uncomfortable.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness. Being honest opens more doors than pretending.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, Coca Cola Flow Fest, Tecate Emblema — and someday, big youth-focused stages from Billboard, MTV, and Radio Disney.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why? Artists like Olivia Rodrigo or Billie Eilish, because they understand how to turn real emotions into accessible pop without losing authenticity.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website, Spotify, IG, links) You can follow us on YouTube and Instagram at lidly.ok. That’s where all our releases and updates are posted.
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
To grow Lidly into a platform where new young voices can shine with visibility and purpose — a place where honest stories turn into songs that travel far.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way? That behind every song there’s a real story, a real feeling, and a real teenager trying to find their place.
