Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with POLISEX

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Zombaby: i was 14 when i tried to make a track on my own for the first time. And to be honnest it was really sketchy and messy as I didn’t know how to do it, I just tried and liked it. I don’t remember my childhood so it’s my first memory related to music.
Spiky: I was 8 when I wrote my first song, well if I can call it a song. I think that’s the first time I really felt connected to this art.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
Z: As I said in my previous answer it begun at 14, I tried, I liked it and I never stopped doing it. I’m 22 now and I know that music is a part of myself.
S: By writing little texts, after that I knew that I wanted to do music forever. But it only became reality a decade later when zombaby made me listen to one of their track. And we decided to create POLISEX!
What’s the story behind your current music project?
It’s not out yet but we wanted to tell a story about us in a different universe. The project we’re working on will be connected to our nexts. All we can say about that story is that it’s gonna start by an unexpected event on our origin planet: Mystik Appeal.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
It’s weird but cool.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Knowing that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Music is an art wich doesn’t need approbation to become reality. It needs to be done so you can share it to the world
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Z: Currently I use FL studio, bandlab and a numeric pad.
S: I’m recording on Audacity with a mic that I bought for like 50€, but we’re gonna change some things in the future as soon as we can don’t worry.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Z: DJSM
S: Unfortunately, I don’t really listen to indie artists these times.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Z: Music as changed through the years, in 2025 I believe that to be successful you need to develop a global and personal vision. And having an artistic vision has influenced POLISEX by wanting to create a whole story about us.
S: I can’t help but write on things that affects me, even if i know that I shouldn’t take it too seriously cause the main goal for us is to have fun. But in each music we make, even if it doesn’t seem like it, there’s always a message behind it.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
Music is for everyone, you’re not alone. As long as you connect to music, you’re connected to the world! Feel free, feel cool, be yourself and have fun!
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music can unite people, it allows us all to feel something, and sometimes forget to our problems, escape to a different world. It’s so cool.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
We need to train and learn a lot, but maybe Tomorrowland.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Z: Holy Priest for the style and the vision, Madonna for the creativity. I would love to make a feat with Madonna, in my dreams for sure, but I would LOVE it.
S: Honestly I don’t really know.
