Formula Indie Sessions : Interview with Tiffany Ann

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Gosh I have so many it’s hard to remember what came first. The memories of my daddy and my uncles drinking, hanging out, listening to all the best classic rock, rebel country, and blues will always be in the fore front of my mind. i also was classically trained vocally at a young age as part of the church choir. I knew very young that music soothed my soul, and helped me sort through my emotions.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
At first I was connecting with other artists music, mimicking Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Fiona Apple, the Judds as close as I could. Then I discovered the art of journaling and poetry and it kind of all started there. I didn’t realize my words would become songs, it just kind of happened as a way to get my feelings out. Then I would hear rhythm, instruments, even choirs in my head and it took off from there.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
Gosh that’s a harder question answer than I thought:) Although I have many endeavors both finished and unfinished for various reasons, I will shed light on my most current and upcoming 2 projects. For my singer songwriter project I have a 4 song E.P. coming out in 2026 titled “thoughts from a troubled mind.” It will include the songs “Before, “Quit Blamin’ me”, “Lonely Dark Lonely Times”, and “Lovely.” Each song has a different meaning and a truly unique vibe exploring thoughts about loneliness, hard times, love, self doubt, intimacy, death and everything in-between.
The second project I’m currently involved in is an 80’s synth style project with my producer Josh Harris. This project is truly unique as it has an EDM vibe, with very meaningful lyrics that explore topics like overdose, self-love, insecurity, and a woman’s worth. I have a 5 song E.P. available on all streaming platforms entitled “Speak On It.”
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music?
As an artist who loves literally all music and does not conform to industry standards I say “my genre is no genre.” I’m heavily influenced by classic blues, rock, and country, but do not shy away from other genres such as 80’s synth etc. My singer songwriter songs range anywhere from americana folk, to folk pop, to indie, country and soft rock. My “pop” music ranges from EDM, to pop, to 80’s synth. I always say if you don’t like my music, just go to the next song as there is something for everybody.
What is one thing you learned that completely changed the way you make music?
David Bowie once said never to make music for anyone but yourself. That changed me forever. I write what feel in the moment to help me process life into art. My producer Jeffrey Wasser once said, “out of 1 million people, 500,000 will be obsessed with you. We need to find your 500,000 people.”
What tools, instruments, or software are essential for your creative process?
The only tools I need are a guitar, piano, and the thoughts in my head. Then I bring it to the band to bring it to life.
What indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Sierra Ferrell! and Brandi Carlile. Sierra absolutely blows my mind. Fox Hunt is one of my favorite songs.
How have your personal experiences influenced you and your artistic vision?
I literally write music to help me process the emotions of life. My songs talk about love, death, insecurity, abd everything in-between. Hearing other peoples music explain life to me inspired me greatly to get my message out to hopefully help others like music has helped me.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope listeners get a message of resilience, empowerment, release, acceptance, and love.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
To just be yourself and the right people will love you for it.
What dream venue or festival would you love to perform at.
A dream venue or festival I would love to perform at would definitely be The Grand Ol Opry!!
Any festival would be great, I had the best time at new orleans jazz fest so that would be amazing, or evolution fest in St. Louis.
If you could collaborate with any artist pastor present who would it be and why?
Sierra Ferrell, Brandi Carlile, Chappell Roan, and Bonnie Rait. These woman have inspired me GREATLY! Both artistically and emotionally.
Where can listeners follow and support your music ?
My EPK is the easiest place as it has link to all my streaming platforms and my social media accounts. Here is the link. If it doesn’t work please let me know.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
My absolute dream is to get my original music to the masses and hopefully be able to be the opening act for bigger artists in hopes to one day be the headlining act of bigger shows throughout the year.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope my listeners discover that they have walked in my shoes, had hard times of their own, and came out on the other side. I hope they discover that all I want to do is play my music for those who want to hear it, and use any fame that may come with it to do good in this world.
