Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with RADIO PRAGA

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My earliest memory connected to music is quite simple: my father listening to his tapes on an old stereo inside his Volkswagen Beetle. Nothing particularly special, but those songs were always part of our drives, and they created my first real connection with music.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
My passion began during my teenage years, when I started studying guitar more seriously. Shortly after, my friends and I formed a rock band. We were full of enthusiasm and started writing our own songs, heavily inspired by classic rock artists. That’s when I understood that music wasn’t just something to listen to—it was something I wanted to create.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
This project was born during the Covid pandemic. After years of setting aside the study of guitar, I met two people who were as hungry for music as I was. We immediately connected. Together we started writing songs about the emotional landscape of immigration—the pain of leaving your homeland and the sense of displacement that follows. Our music grew out of the need to express those experiences honestly.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
My sound is rooted in 60s and 70s Italian songwriting, but with a strong desire to explore and move across genres. It balances nostalgia with experimentation.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Growing up changed everything. Maturity reshaped how I think about music—it’s no longer just about playing well. It’s about being true to myself and having something meaningful to say.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Everything starts with the guitar—that’s where ideas and melodies are born. Then I use a DAW to work on the arrangements and experiment with different atmospheres. Finally, the songs take their full shape in the studio, where we record everything with care.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
My indie influences aren’t strictly contemporary. Lately I’ve been listening to Akalè Wubè and Massive Attack. They create deep, textured soundscapes that inspire me, even indirectly.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Immigrating to Germany has had a huge impact on me. It brought out emotions I didn’t expect and created a strong need to express what I was living. That experience shaped a new artistic awareness.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope listeners feel understood and accompanied. My songs talk about transitions, nostalgia, vulnerability, and the space between what you leave behind and what you’re still searching for. If someone recognizes a part of their own journey in my music, that means everything to me.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music allows me to reveal parts of myself that I wouldn’t be able to show otherwise. It’s a safe place and a form of expression that goes beyond words.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I’d love to play at small festivals across Northern Europe. There’s a genuine curiosity for different musical cultures, and it would be great to present Italian music in a way that moves beyond the typical “canzonetta” stereotype that often circulates there. Bringing a deeper and more nuanced form of Italian songwriting would be a meaningful challenge.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
As a guitarist, collaborating with Jimi Hendrix would have been a dream—he represents pure creative freedom. Working with John Mayer would also be incredible; his guitar work and refined songwriting are a constant inspiration.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
I’m working on a concept album inspired by a TV series script I wrote. Each song tells the story of one of the main characters. It’s a project that brings together music and storytelling—two forms of expression I care deeply about.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope they discover authenticity. Every song reflects a piece of my personal experience, but also a perspective that can resonate with others. I want listeners to feel the sincerity, the vulnerability, and the desire to tell stories with honesty.
