Osay B delivers soul-stirring pop with a purpose—uplifting hearts and redefining the sound of healthy love.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest memory was around maybe 2nd grade so I would have been 7 or 8 years old, my dad had gotten a keyboard for the house and I remember just playing around and it and learning the different sounds and features.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

My passion for creating music began later in life. At around 15 I downloaded FL studios free version and started making music but I couldn’t save it, so I let that go for a little while till at around 22 years old when I started getting back into producing and learning to write songs. That’s when the passion was really ignited.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

My latest series of songs are really about a time when I almost lost out and let go of the woman who eventually became my wife, and how without patience and faith that good thing would have never happened.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

My sound has great atmospheric, amazing low end melodies and carries a lot of rhythm. My voice and pen carries a lot of emotion, so my music is sure to make you move and feel. It’s definitely soul music in all sorts of flavors.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

Just not being satisfied, I think making music, like a chef creating a new meal, takes a lot of time and experimentation and being always willing to do the work and show up regardless of feelings or success is important to be a creator.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

My computer is very important, I run cubase on it. Also my piano, guitar, and notebook are all essential for me to make music.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I don’t listen to as much music for pleasure as I used to, it’s mainly from a research perspective, but I have friends who are indie musicians and artists I’ve heard on tiktok such as Corzine, Carolyne Naomi, Javen hunt and others.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

My music very much are takes on my personal experiences and relating it as best as I can for commercial consumption.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I hope that people hear my music and it causes an action out of them, whether to cry, or laugh or be joyous, I think my music captures a lot of the human emotional experience.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Music has taught me that nothing comes to you simply out of luck, but putting in the work and putting yourself out there you never know what can happen.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

I really want to headline my own show in Madison Square Garden one day.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
