Meet Planet Ruti, a rising artist and entrepreneur who is making waves in the music industry with his unique blend of hip hop, pop, and alternative music. At just 21 years old, Planet Ruti is already making a name for himself as the owner of Vocal Vision Studios, a recording studio in Ashevile, North Carolina that serves as a creative hub for local artists. With his own music, Planet Ruti channels his passion and creativity into each track, delivering high-energy performances and heartfelt lyrics that speak to his life experiences and personal journey. What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I remember as a kid listening to Hannah Montana’s Nobody’s Perfect. I remember liking the song and having to pretend that I didn’t so that the other kids didn’t think I was weird for liking Hannah Montana as a boy. There was something magical about the message of the song. I loved it.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

I was in high school when covid hit. During that time I didn’t know how to spend my time and I started making songs with Stu Rite, a dear friend and producer. We just started making songs, and we loved it. That led to us creating a music studio in Asheville North Carolina where we continued to cook for years.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

The story behind my current music is, throughout my life I have felt extremely loved by my environment. I want to share that love that led me to feel amazing about chasing my dreams, loving myself, and becoming free from judgment from the world. I want to spread a positive message. “you are loved” is my mission. I aim to help people love themselves more by helping them let go of their fear. I want to help people accept and love themselves for exactly who they are.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

My music is happy, upbeat, yet powerful. I make music that makes you feel good. It makes you want to move, dance, and express yourself. It’s also quite motivational depending on the song.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

There’s so many things that changed the way I make music. I would say learning how to mix and master my own songs changed everything. Being able to complete the process of creating without having to rely on anyone else has made my release process much more efficient.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Personally I am a huge FL Studio fan. That’s where I started making music and now in FL 25 I have everything I need to be able to create my own beats, record my vocals, mix and master my songs all in the same software. That has been huge along with having a handful of plugins I understand, that I can dial in to create the sound I aim to create.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

Big D3 is a rapper located in Asheville NC. His story is incredible. The amount he has been able to overcome shows how strong of an artist he truly is. That, along with his motivation for making music being to make a better life for his daughter, has led to him to gain a great deal of respect in my eyes.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

It has been everything. I think for a long time I used music as self therapy. As I grew and worked through my insecurities, I began to make music for others rather than myself. The amount of love I have received and given throughout my journey has directly influenced the music that I make. My music is for everyone and I love everyone, including myself 🙂

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

Joy. I want people to hear my music and really listen. As they do I believe that that can lead to them self reflecting and coming to the realization that life isn’t so bad. That no matter what happens you are loved and you’ll always be okay. The overall goal of my music is to help others love themselves more. I want them to hear my music and trust that they can do it. They can be forgiven. They can love without fear.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

The universe has a plan for everything. If it is meant to be then it will be. Trust the world and the world will trust you. Even at times when I’ve felt like the universe was against me, it wasn’t. There’s always a better opportunity right around the corner. Trust the flow of it all. Whatever happens is exactly what’s supposed to happen.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Rolling Loud. I want to perform for millions. I hope to one day showcase the love I have for the world at a festival like Rolling Loud where I can directly show that love to an audience at a massive scale.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Yeat. I love the way he and Bnyx collaborate to really push the boundary of what we consider to be modern music. Working with both of them together would be absolutely amazing. Also Kesha had a lot of influence on my music taste growing up and I’d love to collaborate with her.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

Right now with my song “MAKE” I am starting a dance trend on tiktok that brings people together 🙂 So as of right now the dream is to watch that dance take on a life of it’s own and spread joy to millions.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

That the music that I make comes from a place of love for the world. I hope they feel that love that I have for them.
