Sirg Glass album Suburban Skies is out now — bringing back the 90’s rock & roll, guitar riffs, and a touch of modern edge. Give it a listen!

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My grandfather was a musician, he played trumpet and violin. I still remember one afternoon when he called my cousin and me into the living room because he had a gift for us. He handed us a golden trumpet. I’ll never forget that moment (even though I wanted a saxophone LOL). I miss you, Grandpa.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

I was never very excited about playing cover songs. I like covers for learning and practice, but my heart beats faster when I’m creating something new. The first song I ever wrote was about life, hope, and seeing the world through a child’s eyes. I’ve never recorded that one, but I felt so proud of it, and from that moment on, I just never stopped writing.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

We recorded our first Sir Glass album back in 2013. While we were recording Long Road, we were hit with a wave of inspiration and started working on our next album, Suburban Skies. But then life happened! I had to move to the USA, and Sir Glass went on hold. Fast forward to 2024: we found a way to reconnect and record the new album partly remote, partly in person. Huge shoutout to LabSound Studio for making that possible.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

We grew up in the ‘90s, when Rock had big guitar riffs, powerful choruses, noise and attitude. That’s in our DNA. If you love rock and roll, there’s a very good chance you’ll vibe with Sir Glass.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

The game-changer was the first time we went into a studio to record a demo. It opened the door to understanding how music is built. After that, I realized I could start shaping arrangements at home. I may not have all the gear, but the studio experience gave me the skills to build strong song drafts before we go in to record.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

I keep it simple at first: an acoustic guitar and the voice memo app. Once I have the melody, I write the lyrics. Then I use MIDI tools and GarageBand with a Focusrite interface to sketch out the arrangement. Before going to the studio, we already have drum loops, keyboard and bass via MIDI, and a good reference for solos and vocals.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

Right now I’m honestly obsessed with our new album Suburban Skies. I can’t stop listening to it. But I stay close to my roots: Oasis, Foo Fighters, Beatles, Queen. I know, totally old school! I’ve also been listening to Yungblud, and I really like the band Ellectric Birds.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

I believe you are everything you’ve lived. When you write a song, you give a piece of your soul, whether the song is happy or sad. Music becomes a reflection of who you were, who you are, and who you’re becoming.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I want people to have a great time. Music isn’t rational, it is about feelings, emotions, it lifts you out of your daily life and takes you somewhere else. For those 3 minutes, I want you to feel like nothing else matters, and in that moment you are a famous rock and roll star.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Never give up. There are many voices out there saying, “This will never work.” Don’t listen to them. Just keep going.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Sir Glass live at Wembley Stadion. 81,000 hysterical, passionate fans. Sold out! Can you imagine how cool that would be 😊

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

I love this question, and yes absolutely. I would have Noel Gallagher for guitar riffs, and chorus melodies. I would definitely have Dave Grohl to create the drums for us, and last but not the least, Sir Paul McCartney to create the bass lines and backing vocals. That would be the dream lineup.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

We’re on all streaming platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. And you can follow us on Instagram.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

We’ve released two albums (Long Road and Suburban Skies), and we already have three more we can’t wait to record. But first, we want to share our music with the world. These albums are too good to stay hidden. Once people hear them, I’m sure they’ll fall in love.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

My name is Giuliano, and together with Mauricy, we are Sir Glass. We stay true to who we are. If you love our melodies, our lyrics, and our guitar work, you’re in good hands. We’ll evolve, we’ll explore, but our core will always stay the same.
