Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with The Insomnia Night

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
Legend has it that when I started walking as a baby, I would wander around the house singing ‘Whatever You Want’ by Status Quo — though in baby language, it came out as ‘padebi di bo’. I don’t really remember that part. But I do clearly remember that when I was 8, I was given ‘Slippery When Wet’ by Bon Jovi on cassette.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
I was always more drawn to composing than performing. I started writing lyrics at 13, and began composing music at 17, after seeing a friend play the guitar.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
I started writing songs when I was a teenager, but… It really began in earnest about ten years ago, triggered by a painful experience and situation life placed in front of me. I tried to channel all of that into music as a way to express it — and from there, it kept evolving
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
It’s a very distinctive sound, or so say friends who know their stuff. I try to explore different musical styles, but always keep a strong connection to Rock — sometimes Pop — seasoned with touches of gothic rock, hard rock, and progressive.Reply
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Listening to the atmosphere, to the air, to the silence. Distinguishing layers of sound
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Acoustic or Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboards. Logic Pro, the older ones
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I don’t usually listen to much music — and even less to new stuff. I tend to go for older tunes. Like in The Sixth Sense: ‘Sometimes I hear dead people…’ Just kidding — but it’s kind of true.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
Pretty much everything. My personal experiences — and also those of others whose stories I tell, or at least reinterpret from my own perspective — have deeply shaped both my music and artistic vision
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
Something that resonates within, that awakens memories or emotions, and gently shakes their way of seeing or feeling
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That it never leaves me — it’s always there. And it heals. It never forgets.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Right now, performing at a festival isn’t really part of my plans. I’m more focused on the studio — both musically and visually. But if I had to choose, I’d go for something like the Pink Floyd shows in Venice or Pompeii… or maybe a cathedral, or a valley nestled between mountains
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
There are many artists I admire — you know, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Queen, Genesis, The Beatles, The Cure, Scorpions, Megadeth. But if I had to choose one, maybe because of the impact he had on me years ago, I’d say Andrew Eldritch from The Sisters of Mercy

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
To reach more people — for them to connect with the audiovisual work, to feel seen in it… and hey, let’s not forget, it’d be nice to earn a bit of money too, haha.”
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I don’t have any special expectations. I’m not into flattery. If my work resonates with someone, if it helps them somehow — that’s more than enough
My latest music video is visually immersed in the inner reflections of a vampire — though in truth, it resonates with anyone who carries an awareness of time, life, and mortality
