Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with UNFRMD

1. What is your earliest memory connected to music?
As a child, I was drawn to instrumental versions of songs. The pure melodies without vocals or distractions. That focus on the emotional core fascinated me. Even today, I’m deeply moved by film scores from composers like Hans Zimmer because they reach straight to the heart without needing words.
2. How did your passion for creating music begin?
I’m still fairly new to music production, with only five tracks released so far. Making music became a way to process what I feel and experience. Artists I admire, such as Avicii, Coldplay, Sia, Ryan Tedder, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston, showed me that music knows no limits. Everyone has their own story, and I’m just beginning to tell mine.
3. What’s the story behind your current music project?
My current songs close a very personal chapter. They deal with acceptance, healing, and the freedom that follows. The sound has evolved toward progressive house, which reflects that energy of being alive and moving forward.
4. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before? It’s a mix of heartfelt emotion and uplifting energy. Progressive house that feels atmospheric yet clear. Minimalistic, but with impact. That’s the spirit of UNFRMD.
5. What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music? I learned that what moves me will not always move everyone else, and that’s okay. Authenticity matters more than perfection. Every song teaches me something new.
6. What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process? I use Suno Studio to develop ideas and LANDR for mastering and releases. Tools help shape the sound, but the real power lies in the story and feeling behind the music.
7. Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I’m really inspired by soulful and heartfelt artists like James Morrison, Ed Sheeran and. James Bay. They all share a raw emotional honesty that feels real and timeless.
8. How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision? Every song reflects a step in my own journey from pain to peace. I don’t reveal everything, but each track holds a part of my story. It’s an invitation for listeners to feel and reflect with me.
9. What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope they find comfort and connection. I want them to feel that healing is possible, that they are not alone, and that it’s okay to feel deeply.
10. What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Vulnerability and honesty matter more than perfection. Those real, imperfect moments are what truly connect people.
11. What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Tomorrowland. It’s more than just a festival. It’s a place where people come together to celebrate music and emotion as one.
12. If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why? Someone who brings depth and honesty to their work. I admire artists who stay real and understand that sometimes simplicity can express the most powerful emotions.

15. What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
That behind UNFRMD is someone who shares emotions openly and honestly, without showmanship. The minimalistic logo and visuals reflect that same clarity and atmosphere. It’s all about real emotion and storytelling that makes people feel something genuine.
