At the time Corinna was experiencing the grief of recently losing her mother, which she channeled into
the two songs she co-wrote with Arpino; “Give Me A Sign” , a cathartic electro-pop-rock anthem that calls
out to the universe, asking if there is something beyond what we can see (championed on BBC
Introducing), and “I’m Not Ready Now”, a brit-pop style mid tempo ballad addressing the feeling of
deceiving yourself into thinking that you are ok, when you’re not.
The EP progresses into the realms of love and relationships. “Shockwaves” is a sassy, theatrical number
that pours out lustful yearning for someone who is unavailable, while the timeless string infused ballad
“It Was Alright” fondly reminisces over a seemingly perfect summer fling. “One Last Serenade”, talks
about the refusal to let go of a relationship over a hook laden pop chorus with a 90’s throwback
soundscape.
In addition to the tracks produced by Arpino, Corinna includes the sixty second interlude “London Cafe”,
an forty-two voice acapella choral affair, which samples various cups from the kitchen cupboard.
This was a lockdown project, which Corinna produced herself and created a quirky accompanying video
where four of her interact with one another, showcasing an entertaining and complex video piece.
