Marigold Ingot- Philadelphia, USA – has burst onto the independent music scene over the last
year by recording and releasing original music, starting with her debut EP, Blame Game in
November 2020. She more recently released Exactly the Same (StoneBridge Remix) in June
2021, which has thus far garnered over 400,000 streams on Spotify, and the country-pop song
Whiskey and Wine this past September.
Now, she’s keeping up the momentum with her latest release – a melancholy, piano-driven power
ballad that soars with feelings of heartbreak and love lost.
In the industry, Marigold is inspired by ‘all the badass women out there making waves’ in more
traditionally male-dominated genres including female rock and rap artists, and game-changing
pop artists like Lizzo and Billie Eilish.
In style, she takes influence from The Black Keys, Lorde & Sara Bareilles, and is greatly inspired
by Adele’s heartbreak anthems. However, be ready for a unique sound with hard-hitting original
lyrics and Marigold’s incredibly diverse musical style.
Dial Tone is an exploration of love and what happens after it ends, describing a
less-than-healthy relationship and the exhaustion of its aftermath. While the song itself
explores this deep sadness and heartbreak, Marigold also reminds us that after every end,
there is a new beginning.
Marigold’s background is as varied as her music, and she has lived, worked & studied on three
continents in six countries including the USA, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, Kyrgyzstan, and
Mongolia. She also speaks Russian and Mongolian and has studied Persian and Japanese.
Alongside this, she is a natural performer and has a background in acting and classical dance
including ballet and tap dance. She loves travelling and getting to know new cultures,
countries, and people.
