A swaggering “Suffragette City”-esque stomp that finds Aza in a rallying tirade against the futility of modern living and the Rat Race. She best describes her musical style as “Dark cinematic pop with African undertones”. Alexiane was born in Montmagny Quebec to a Senegalese father and a Canadian mother. Shuttling between Montreal and Senegal, the young Alexiane soaked up the African, French, and North American sounds of her childhood and quickly turned demons to muses. Various influences, from Youssou N’dour and Celine Dion, from Dido to Sade and Lhasa de Sela to Lana del Rey. All of which helped shape her sound.

Enid was born 7 months ago from the fusion of Nawal, a singer with a real vocal signature, and Pask, an experienced drummer. Nawal is an almost compulsive melodic maker, and Pask completes songs construction by structuring and laying out the musical arrangements. After 7 months of existence, intensive rehearsals, the band, now completed by 3 others musicians, had the chance to place their first 2 singles on the biggest rock radio in Belgium, Classic 21. The band will release their first EP for spring 2022.

It is amazing how often three musical chords can be manipulated and presented in such a way that we are left with something new and exciting. Rich Chambers’ “I Wonder” is a testament to this. Using three basic chords as his foundation, Chambers has built a simple yet effective melody, a sing-alongable gang chorus, some crafty guitar hooks, and a well-placed harmonica to create a Rock n’ Roll tune that is both memorable and highly infectious. It’s a Rock N’ Roll track that would not be out of place in Country, Easy Listening, Top 40, or multiple other formats. Why? Because it is quite simply a good song!
