What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. My family (Dad, Mom and Brother) and I went to watch the singer, Abida Parveen, perform live in an open-air heritage site in New Delhi. There was a point while she was singing, when I stopped running around like a child, sat down next to my parents, and felt what goosebumps meant for the first time.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

When I began using a walkman at about 10 years old, I fell in love with classic and soft rock songs. My curiosity for creating such songs, birthed the passion for it. I enjoyed composing tunes in high school, with percussion instruments and vocals. The real implementation of this passion for composing songs came as an adult.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

ALBOE is an acronym for ‘A Little Bit Of Everything’. This term allows me to be genre fluid with the music I create. I do not wish to restrict myself to a certain department of music, and would like to explore the bottomless pits of the musical subject in my project.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

All my songs are mostly melodic, broadly falling into tranquil or happy music. They are synth heavy, with percussive chords and they try to embody a certain vibe in each song.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

Less is more.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

I don’t think any specific tool is essential for me in the creative process. While I definitely need a DAW to complete a song, I have been able to create beats or tunes with any instrument capable of doing so.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

Meltt, Botie Grove, Jungle, and Sufjan Stevens. (I know these are multiple)

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

I am uncertain of how my experiences have affected my music. While I am sure they have, I am unable to correlate the cause and effect.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I hope they feel the same way I do when I hear good music which makes me want to close my eyes, go on a journey with the song, enjoy the present, feel love, an overwhelming sense of intangible power or even a surge in energy.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Don’t make anything more complicated than it needs to be.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Coachella or Glastonbury music festival.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

A.R. Rahman or Hans Zimmer. They are maestros in the art of story telling via music. Words are not necessary for great musicians like them to convey an emotion.
