Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Eleven Plus

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
-Probably MTV and films.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
-It has always been in my head from a young age. I just had to learn the technical side of tracking and mixing to get the ideas out. I think I was passionate about making music before I really knew how to be honest.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
Eleven Plus is just a repository for any and all electronic music I make.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music
before?
Hopelessly stuck in the 90s?
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Write the music you enjoy and don’t waste time over-analysing every millisecond.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Probably Ableton, Neve Newtons, NS-10s, and my control room.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Spotify says Blackalicious A to G (Mo’ Wax ’99)
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
I hope so, otherwise most of it wouldn’t maker sense!
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope it encourages people to come up with their own story. There’s a fair bit of nostalgia but those are just my personal influences.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
You can rely on instinct and patience at the same time.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Something outside on a summer night around 10 pm with a good sound system.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I’d like to be a fly on the wall just watching Boards of Canada at work for awhile.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)
www.elevenplus.bandcamp.com and www.mx3.ch/elevenplus
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical
journey?
There’s around 3 albums of material and a few singles that I’m trying to mix at the moment. I’d like to get them done by the end of 2026.
