Busu

polish guy making music. based in Varberg, Sweden

He began his musical journey in 2005 and, in 2007, co-founded the Synthetic Sequence collective to promote and organize electronic music events across Lower Silesia, Poland. Performing under this banner for several years, mainly in his hometown of Wałbrzych.
He feels most comfortable creating melodic tracks, blending emotional harmonies with deep grooves. Over the years, he has released mostly melodic house and techno on respected labels such as Day Dose Of House, Tronic, Electric Ballroom among others.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

My earliest memories connected with music are the contests my dad used to organize for me at home. I had to guess the titles of classical pieces written by composers such as Frédéric Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, etc. For each correct answer, I would receive a small cash reward of 1 PLN. I could have been around 6 or 7 years old at the time.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

I started my journey with electronic music by mixing house and trance back in 2005. About 2-3 years later, just DJing was no longer enough for me, so I began diving into producing my own music. My first steps were in the DAW Reason 3.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

I’ve noticed that in every track I create, I tend to weave in some kind of melodic motif. I don’t usually decide on a specific style from the beginning, but it’s important to me that the track has something to say and that I have a lot of fun while making it.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

I think that right now I feel most comfortable in melodic vibes—if I had to categorize it, I’d say I move within progressive, melodic, and afro house. I also have some released tracks in the techno genre.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I remember that at one point I had a big problem with arranging a track and escaping the 8-bar loop trap. One of the courses focused on that topic really helped me break through that block and move forward.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

I believe the most useful tools in my productions are well-selected samples, along with Serum 2 and Omnisphere 3.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

If I had to choose only three tracks at this moment:

Lynnic, ItsArius, Courtney Storm – See My Soul;  Banaati – Gaslight; UOAK, Xerxes-K – Other Side

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

On a daily basis, I work full-time in a quality department, where consistency and continuous improvement are among the most important skills. When it comes to making music then the passion, consistency, and the need for continuous improvement of acquired skills are the key to achieving a goal. And it doesn’t matter what that goal is, because everyone has a different one.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I simply love making music, and producing a track usually brings me a lot of joy and a wide range of emotions.

I hope the listener feels at least a fraction of what I experience while producing music. If they come back to my track after 1st listening, I will consider it a great success.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Music has taught me, above all, humility, while at the same time building my self-belief, patience, and consistency in pursuing my goals.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

At the moment, I don’t have a specific dream venue or festival, but if I had to choose one, it would definitely be in my home country, Poland.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

If I could choose a collaboration, it would definitely be with Banaati for his unique style, or Courtney Storm. Every track she’s featured on feels like a work of art to me.

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

It has always been my dream to release one of my tracks on vinyl. Additionally, a quiet dream of mine that I’ve always wanted to fulfill is working in a studio and being involved in music production on a daily basis. Working a full-time job would open up new opportunities and broaden my musical horizons.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

That my music can’t be confined to a single genre—I enjoy creating in various styles.
