Formula Indie Sessions : Interview with waudiface

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My earliest memory of music is less a specific moment and more a feeling. Music has always been something that brought me inward, a space where I could simply be. I remember not just hearing sounds, but truly feeling them.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
My passion for music began from a need to express myself. At some point, I realized that words alone are often not enough. Music has the ability to make the unspeakable felt. It became a way for me to share inner processes and realizations.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
My current project ‘waudiface’ is deeply connected to inner growth and awareness. It’s about returning to oneself, moving away from constant doing and towards simply being. My music is an invitation to reconnect with that state.
How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as calm, atmospheric, and introspective. It moves between indie, singer-songwriter, and a meditative space. It’s music that doesn’t push, but rather creates space.
What is one thing you’ve learned that changed your music?
I’ve learned that music doesn’t need to be perfect, it needs to be honest. Since then, I try to control less and allow more, and that’s when the music truly comes alive.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential?
I work with digital tools, my voice, and simple musical elements. For me, it’s not about the equipment, but about the feeling being conveyed. Less is often more.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I’m less inspired by specific artists and more by moods and moments. Still, there are many indie and ambient artists whose depth resonates with me.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music?
My music is directly connected to my personal journey. Themes like letting go, presence, and self-awareness naturally flow into it. I don’t write about concepts, but about lived experiences.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take?
I want to remind people that we don’t need to add anything to be complete. Everything is already there in simply being. My music is meant to convey a sense of calm, trust, and connection.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you?
Music has taught me to listen, not only outwardly, but especially inwardly. True connection happens when you show yourself without trying to be something.
What is a dream venue or festival?
Less about a specific place, more about a space where people truly listen and allow themselves to feel. Whether small or large doesn’t matter to me.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?
With people who bring a similar depth and openness. For me, it’s less about the name and more about the shared energy.
Where can listeners follow and support your music?

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream?
I want to continue creating music that touches people and helps them reconnect with themselves. Growth for me means becoming more honest and more free.
What do you hope listeners discover about you?
That behind the music is a human being on a path as well. And that maybe we can meet each other somewhere along that journey.
