Glimmer Void are an Italian band from the Milan area, formed by Matteo (bass/vocals), Veronica (keys/vocals), Francesco (guitars), Paolo (guitars), and Luca (drums). The project was born in early 2025 from the ashes of a previous band. Their sound blends alternative rock with stoner and progressive influences.

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I basically grew up surrounded by music. My father is a musician, and there was always a record playing at home. Over time I learned to love music and it naturally became a passion.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

It started when I was a kid in the early 2000s, making music on eJay with a friend. Unfortunately, on my own my creativity has always been a bit limited, which is why I rediscovered the pleasure of composing only later, when I began playing in bands.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

Glimmer Void was born from the ashes of Kaiju, a project focused mainly on stoner rock that Francesco and I started. With Glimmer Void, we wanted to explore more alternative and progressive sounds.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

A mix between Tool, Porcupine Tree, A Perfect Circle, and Queens of the Stone Age.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I think I still have a lot to learn. One thing we’ve truly realized, though, is how challenging today’s music landscape is, even though creating and releasing music has become relatively easy. Humility is definitely something we’ve learned to embrace over time.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Very few things, honestly. We use Reaper to record our demos, and some of the synths on Echoes of Life were created with GarageBand.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

Not sure if they’re considered indie, but right now I’m obsessed with bands like Geese, Maruja, and Racing Mount Pleasant.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

So far, not too much but I plan on focusing more on lyrics that deal with current events or personal feelings. Up to this point, I’ve been mostly inspired by cinema, literature, and video games.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I’d love for our listeners to “travel” to the most remote corners of their minds while listening to our music preferably with headphones, in the dark.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

That there’s always room for improvement, and that facing difficulties together is easier than doing it alone.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

It would be amazing to play outside of Italy, but honestly right now we’d be happy with any gig, we’re struggling to find shows at the moment.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Maynard James Keenan or Trent Reznor, because they are the artists who inspire me the most.

Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?

To move beyond our local area, reach a broader audience, and play more shows. Right now we’re a semi-unknown band, but I’d love for people even in the most remote corners of the world to discover and appreciate us.

What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?

Something that aligns with their tastes, but still sounds original.
