Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview ManyFew

What is your earliest memory connected to music?

Mum has been telling us these stories over and over again, when she was expecting, every time there was music playing whether it was at the shopping mall or when she was watching TV, she could feel the baby kicking to the rhythm of the music. This happened to both of us which is quite funny and connected us to music very early!

How did your passion for creating music begin?

We’re from a family where music always has been playing in the background in everyday life when growing up. Mum was always listening to the radio at home and in the car and when cooking for instance. Also we were inspired by our uncle who is a club DJ and we used to borrow his record bag to listen to the latest releases and got so much inspiration and excitement from it, which inspired ourselves to become DJs as well. We started as DJs and realised that we love to sample and loop things up in a record so we started to produce and create our own cuts, upload them to Soundcloud and from there we started to release our own music.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

We’ve been releasing music in other aliases too but in terms of ManyFew we wanted to create a name with an opposition of two words, we are making music for the people around the globe and want to reach out to as many people as possible and spread energy and feel good vibes (many) and it’s us two (few) who are creating the tunes so we felt that ManyFew would be a cool and suitable name for this project.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

We love to be working while on the road and we’re usually producing in headphones most of the time. We’re always bringing our keyboard when on the road, something we are using on a daily basis as well. We’re working in Logic and have been doing that since we started out and we still love how it’s structured that software
