What is your earliest memory connected to music?

We were formed when Okawa (guitar) and koinu (bass) met at a jazz session in Nishi-Ogikubo.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

This band started from a desire to become something special—not part of the mainstream, but a band doing something quietly incredible on the edge of the scene.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

Although each member has a different musical background, everyone brings their own talent. We came together to slowly explore and pursue interesting ideas through music.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

Ambient and soulful pop music.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

We adopted a track-first approach to songwriting within the band. By creating tracks first and then adding melodies on top, we’re able to create sounds that don’t exist in conventional vocal-driven music.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

We hope listeners feel relaxed and calm, as if they’re gently tripping.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

Music that comes out naturally is the most beautiful and powerful. To achieve that, we believe it’s essential to keep refining ourselves constantly.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Tiny Desk Concert.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Honestly, the current members are the best collaborators we could ask for. But if we had to choose, it would be Thundercat—because he’s incredibly cool.
