What is your earliest memory connected to music?
The class of piano when I was 5 or 6 years old.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
I wanted to listen the sound in my brain.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
This October I released 5th album “交信 / Koshin -correspondence- ” . I’m singing about believing and contacting each other in modern life nowadays. The sound has tastes of samba, oldies, city pop, Shibuya-kei, slowcore and punk rock influenced by the music across time and space.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
“Alternative Tokyo indie pop”, influenced by 80’s pops, 90’s rock and 00’s alternative.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
The word of Yasuyuki Okamura(岡村靖幸) – Japanese pop star. “Everyone can make music, it’s not special talent. Then the only thing, listeners just judge your music like or not.”
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
E.Gt. Telecaster Thinline by Fender Japan and Logic Pro.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Iruka police(イルカポリス海豚刑警) from Taiwan
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
When I listened Touming Magazine(透明雑誌 – Taiwan indie rock band), I found many influence from the bands that I love too. Their songs are influenced, but have original taste, flavor and mood. Then they became my model.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I can make something too.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Keep your music alive.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Fuji Rock in Japan or Vagabond festival in Taiwan
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Ginger Root (US) : I respect his indie spirit and sense of humor. Maybe we love almost same culture.
Dotzio from I’m difficult (Taiwan) : I love her voice.
