Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Claudia Ferri

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I remember that as a child I performed as a performer in my maternal grandmother’s living room together with my cousins
How did your passion for creating music begin?
Music has always been part of me. At 11 I started studying dance and at 21 I discovered the world of musicals while attending the Opus Ballett school in Florence where there was a musical course and I met my first singing teacher. Over the years I felt the need to tell my story and from there I started taking songwriting courses and writing my own songs
What’s the story behind your current music project?
Shadows on the floor Expresses melancholy and anticipation. A sort of monologue that shows naked dedication to a love that, although vanished, far away, continues to live in the hearts of those who remain. The song is modern for its emotional immediacy and direct approach. Far from romantic clichés, while deeply maintaining a pop-rock ballad soul, it makes itself heard because it releases universal feelings that belong to each of us. The key emotion is a persistent, almost naive, hope that one day things will go back to the way they were.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
My intent is to combine 90s glamrock sounds with contemporary sounds
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
before I followed the fashions of the moment and did what was asked of me Now I follow my instincts and I have found an excellent team that trusts me

My voice and my team

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
like all songwriters my life and observing what happens around me influences my writing 100% I believe that the strength of being credible is telling true things where each of us can find ourselves
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I would like each of them to seek their own emotion
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
that I can’t lie to myself
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I don’t have a favorite stage where I dream of performing, but I have a studio where I dream of recording the album of my life… the Hansa Studio in Berlin
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Yungblud for his style that bridges old and new and then with Steve Tyler.
