What is your earliest memory connected to music?
My first memory of music dates back many years, when I was a child. I was afraid to sleep alone in my room, so I had a radio, I would take a cassette or a CD from my mother, and I would keep myself company with music!
How did your passion for creating music begin?
At the age of 12-13, I went to the first parties, and at these parties I heard these incredible songs, obviously there was no Shazam, so then I went home and searched for the title on the internet, hoping to find it, from there I decided that I also wanted to produce music, to use the productions as an outlet for my feelings, and from there, at about 13-14 years old, I started
What’s the story behind your current music project?
At the moment, the main project is called Noctavia. There are two of us: my colleague is a music teacher, specializing in guitar, and I only do electronics. I suggested combining our ideas and genres, and some interesting things are coming out of it! I’ve been on hiatus for a while, but I’m ready to get back to it.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Our songs are simply pure, they come from the heart and almost always tell an emotion or a story, of course, sometimes we focus more on the rhythm and making people dance, in the end that’s the job of the electronic producer, but sometimes we tell our moods, or stories we’ve experienced, trying to make as many people as possible reflect them.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
When I understood how to convey my emotions through music, not just by copying other artists, maybe I understood what it really means to make music.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Fl, of course, real basses, real guitars, sometimes the keyboard, and of course, creativity.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Lunarwave and tzu, they make good stuff, go give them a listen, they are interesting
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
totally, from depression to the search for happiness, as I said, in our projects there is a lot of experience
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I want my, our music to be entertaining, or comforting, and reflect the user, I would like to try to transport the listener on a journey with every track, sad or happy that it is.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That it’s not an easy world, that great work can’t always be appreciated, that what I like, may not be liked by many others.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Well, of course, Tomorrowland, but I’d like to return one day to my first experience, the Supersonic, in Veneto, Italy, now closed permanently, maybe in my next life.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Swedish House Mafia, they are my favorites, they have an enviable sound and rhythm.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website, Spotify, IG, links)
certainly on Spotify and Instagram, the project is called Noctavia, while my personal profile is Elvis Rizzo.
Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
I would simply like more and more people to come and listen to our music, obviously if they like it, I’m not interested in fame, I want to continue doing what I do, creating stories.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
nothing about me, I would like them to discover more about themselves by listening to our songs.
