Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Indie Indie

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
One of my earliest memories tied to music is sitting in my parents’ living room, listening to classic rock vinyls turning on the old record player. I remember being fascinated by how a simple melody could fill the room and change the whole vibe. That’s when I first felt music could be more than just sound.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
My passion really took off when I started playing guitar as a teenager with my buddies. We’d jam for hours, trying to figure out our favorite songs, and eventually we started writing our own. That feeling of creating something from nothing hooked me right away—like, “okay, this is what I want to do
What’s the story behind your current music project?
My current project grew out of a desire to still create something in my late 40’s with my best friend.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
I’d describe my sound as alternative pop-rock with emotional depth—think melodic guitars, ambient layers, and vocals that carry a sense of vulnerability. A blend between favourite bands as Coldplay, Radiohead, Keane, U2, …etc
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
I learned that simplicity can be powerful. You don’t always need complex arrangements to make a song impactful. Sometimes, one strong melody or one honest lyric can carry more weight than a dozen layered tracks.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Guitar and piano are my main instruments, and I rely heavily on digital workstations like FL studio for production. I also use plug-ins to create atmospheric textures and experiment with sound design. A good notebook or notes app is essential too—ideas hit anywhere…
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Right now, I’m really into bands like Cigarettes After Sex and Beach house. Their ability to create immersive moods with minimal elements really inspires my own work
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
My music is deeply connected to personal experiences—relationships, moments of doubt, growth, and reflection. I write from real emotions and real situations, which grounds the songs and makes them more relatable.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I hope listeners feel understood and less alone when they hear my music. I want it to be a space where people can reflect, breathe, and maybe find comfort or strength in the lyrics and melodies.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Music taught me patience and resilience. Creating takes time, and not every idea works out, but if you trust the process and keep pushing, something meaningful always comes out of it
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
A dream venue for me would be performing at the Osheaga Festival in Montréal. It’s close to home, but it has international reach—perfect mix of local pride and global stage.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Thom Yorke. His ability to blend emotional depth with unique sonic landscapes is inspiring. I think working with him would push my creativity into totally new territory.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)
Listeners can follow and support my music on Spotify, Instagram, and YouTube. I share updates on new releases and behind-the-scenes moments.. You can find us on Spotify under Indie Indie, and on Instagram at @indie_indie_the_band

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
Looking ahead, my dream is to grow my audience internationally while staying connected to my roots here in Québec. I want to release more music and collaborate with artists who inspire me. Ultimately, I hope to build a community around the emotions and stories in my songs—something real and long-lasting.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I hope listeners discover my authenticity—both the highs and the lows behind the music. I want people to see that my songs come from genuine experiences, and that I’m not afraid to be vulnerable or explore darker themes. At the same time, I hope they also hear the sense of hope and resilience that threads through my work.
