Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Living4Love

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
When i was 4 or 5 i remember watching a show called dragontales and enjoying the music from it, trying to hum my own tunes of the music
How did your passion for creating music begin?
Music saved my life multiple times and got me through alot of dark times in my life. i started with the blues, then learned RnB and Soul
What’s the story behind your current music project?
My stage name is Living4Love, Its why im alive today.
i am living for love.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
i do a mix of genres, some songs might have 4 or 5 genres in a single song. my favorites is Blues, RnB, Soul. but i do other genres such as Trap, some hiphop. a few country vibe songs.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music? Ive spent thousands of dollars on studios and never got the sound i was looking for
some studios partially refunded me, some said you gotta pay for the work wether if you use it or not. and extra charge for redos or major edits. i was never satisfied with what i got after the amount of money and time spent. i never got to hear what i hear in my head when i wrote the lyrics. a studio i went to recorded me and told me afterward my style is too complicated for them to work with and they recommended me to try to make my own beats and tracks. i tried learning DAWs and trying to create the sounds myself but never could figure out how to piece things together properly. i could probably make a beat and track for someone else but for my own work it was extremely complicated. i got discouraged and stopped writing and trying to record for a few years. i found an ai app called Suno AI and for awhile i was avoiding AI because i didnt want a robot singing my songs and i messed around with the app until i discovered i could record my own vocals and upload them into suno along with my own lyrics and suno will generate an instrumental and enhance or generate my vocals. i avoid tracks that generate my vocals and when creating these songs i spend sometimes hours editing in a program called Audacity. and making sure the songs made in suno are using my real vocal recordings.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
My biggest tool i use is an AI software called Suno AI, i use a DAW called Audacity and used to use StudioOne. i play native american flute and plan to put some of that into future songs.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Anthony Oliver
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision? Very heavily.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work? I try to be a light in the dark, hoping my music makes others feel better about themselves
and that there is things in this world worth living for, things worth dying for.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Trust No One
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
Nothing really comes to my mind on this subject.
