Grand Bite – Pesadilla Etilica
Inspirtation:
This song was after a night of a very bad hangover and experienced a leep paralysis, and had a nightmare where I was in a shipwreck and got stranded on an island, and I couldn’t wake up from it. It was like being stuck in a bad dream, wishing to be rescued, felt scared, panicked all the way, even filled myself with hope when I heard a chopper come near by. That’s the sensation I wanted to leave with this song.
Theme and Imagery
The central theme is all about a very desperate way to wake up from this nightmare with a very clear message, after I got to wake up, I finally felt free, I felt really scared, but had to keep on celebrating, and as we say in Spanish, “No Tomo Más” which means “I won’t drink anymore”.
Emotional Tone
Even though the song is more into heavy metal, we wanted to give it a different approach, and tried something out through the choruses and made them more narrative, to give the song even more drama to it, as the song goes by, and it feels more like a tale, toward the end of the song, we gave it up a notch and played a little more speed metal in it. Making it feel more aggressive and make the listener feel the suspense till the very end.
