MUSIC FOR YOUR EARS | REVIEW We’re going for a Ride By Paul Wexler

Wexler is a singer, songwriter and keyboardist. Additionally, he is an experienced music producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. The group called Wexwax was created seven years ago by the same Paul Wexler, and is composed of an eclectic mix of musicians from around the US. This track comes from their debut album, Swept Away

The band’s sound is hard to define; it is as eclectic as the band’s members themselves. There are tones of R&B, Jazz, and country all combining to make a unique sound. This track specifically is a blend of rock with adult contemporary elements in an original way, which many rock music enthusiasts would feel like listening to after a hard day, it is relaxing but not excessively gentle, and invites re-listening.

With regards to the instrumentation, percussion and the electronic guitar mixtures are used together with Wexler’s special and unique voice. The voice is very energetic, and yet seems very appropriate to convey the soothing melody. The combination conveys positive feelings and emotions, in sync with the authentic and original lyrics and the catchy, memorable chorus.

I could say it’s the type of music which you usually prefer to listen to when you’re in a bar or club, but because it’s so well-produced it is far more than that. The song invites you listen, while you are relaxing over a drink, or in a blues club. I would invite everybody to listen to this track. It will not fail to impress the discerning listener who takes the time to discover all the elements of this truly interesting and original band.
