“Margo and Cece” is a pop/rock song by ‘The Non-Professionals’ sporting a bright, uptempo verse and a dancy, punk-pop chorus. The lyrics are a nostalgic-yet-melancholic reflection on lost friendships and childhood romance. Discover that the 2nd August in Formula Indie

Blissy – the leading track from ‘Vandal of Heart’ debut album, Bad Dream – is a tribute to music. It was inspired by his desire to explore what he believe music to be capable and incapable of. In this sense, he thinks Blissy is rare – because, whilst music can help us feel better and provoke thought (a gift in itself), it cannot cure personal ills. The most notable aspect of Blissy is its riff, which employs my classical approach to electric guitar playing. Discover that the 2nd August in Formula Indie

New Enemies is proof that music transcends time and space. After a good amount of regional success, the Philly-based indie band “Turning Violet Violet” called it quits in 2013. The members moved on to other pursuits, like starting families and careers. Fast-forward to nearly a decade later, and four of the members are back with ‘New Enemies’. The music is earnest yet relaxed. It reflects a decade of love and loss, including battling illness and the fracture of relationships. In a market saturated with stories of young love, New Enemies is sharing what it looks like to stand on the edge of divorce (We’re not 23) or start a relationship in your 30’s (If the Shoe Fits), all while playing to the synergy and connection that only a band of 15 years can have. This is the debut album from ‘Amateur Aztec Hour’, aka Daniel Ramirez, out of Austin, Texas. The “Amateur Aztec Hour” moniker comes from the experience of growing up Mexican American, and everything that comes with that in the central Texas region. The music addresses modernity, substance abuse, self deprecation, and existentialism with a poetic type of social critique. The underlying irony of this solo project is its attempt to combat both isolation and insulation. Discover ‘I Went to Morocco Once Type of Guy’ the 2nd August in Formula Indie

Imagine if Beethoven or Bach could visit the 21st century. Instead of dozens of instruments to make sounds, they would have millions. What would their compositions sound like? Beethoven and Bach were the rock stars in their centuries and the instruments they composed with are what was available during their times. Today, with the power of computers and electronics, there is no limit to the sounds you can create. Discover ‘Sonata No.8 in C Minor, Op.13 : I.Grave – Adagio molto’ the 2nd August in Formula Indie

Today’s ‘Christopher Ames Band’ is the culmination of several years of Raw Story – Battered Faith – Rock-n-Roll. “Second look – Second Life” is, at first glance, a brief throw away fragment of a line from the title track of the new CD, but upon deeper reflection not only encapsulates the theme of the record, but the theme of the band as well. Honesty, brokenness, unity, grace, second tries… these are the things that transform 3 stick figures into a Band of Brothers. The latest chapter in the ongoing story, ‘Life Outside the Machine’, is a record that explores, confronts, and exposes the machines we find ourselves in (and needing to escape), as well as the ghosts that both haunt and accompany us on the journey. Stand or fall, this is the Christopher Ames Band. Discover that the 2nd August in Formula Indie
