FIFE BAND ‘THE PASSING SAGES’ SET TO RELEASE ENERGETIC NEW SINGLE Crisis on the Dancefloor

New track ‘Crisis on the Dancefloor’ released on 18.02.22

Six-piece pop outfit, The Passing Sages, hailed as ‘funk fusion pioneers’ by Scottish blogger Heard not Herd, will be coming back with a bang in 2022 with an exciting new single. The Fife-based band are pleased to announce that their latest track, ‘Crisis on the Dancefloor’ will be released on Friday the 18th of February 2022.

Bursting with attitude, the band have well and truly bounded ahead with a new, electronic focus whilst continuing to maintain their usual high energy performances. The roaring new dance track explores a tongue-in-cheek take of a world where people no longer want to dance. The song combines pounding sub bass with heavy distorted guitar, powerful vocals and punchy rapping.

Commenting on the track, singer Holly Clark said:

‘Crisis on the Dancefloor explores our culture’s chronic fear of dancing. Sometimes, I feel we live in quite a stringent society where we feel embarrassed to let our hair down. The song idea came to me after attending a hip-hop concert which I thought was going to be bouncing, instead, I left feeling disappointed at how unenthusiastic the crowd were! The experience inspired me to write about an Orwellian-style society where dancing and having fun is prohibited.’

The new single follows the band’s hugely successful 4-track ‘Burnin’ Up EP’ which was proclaimed as a ‘must hear’ by FV Music Blog. The EP’s upbeat pop title track, ‘Burnin’ Up’, which was released in November 2020, was described as a ‘head-boppingly catchy dance and pop explosion’ by Scottish music critic, Music I’m Obsessed With.

The band have lots exciting plans this year, including another few single releases and a new music video.

Singer, Carrie Forgan said:

‘We were overwhelmed at the positive response we had from the Burnin’ Up EP and we’re now really excited to hear the feedback for our latest track. There’s no doubt that the past couple of years have been difficult for everyone and we wanted to make sure our next track was super fun and upbeat for that reason. If our song can bring a little joy in these trying times, then our goal will be achieved!’

Crisis on the Dancefloor will be available to stream on @thepassingsages social media accounts as well as all major streaming platforms.
